More of an old fashioned comfortable INN, with a great location overlooking the staithe. We traveled with a dog, as they are more than welcome, he also made friends with the staff as we did. At first we were allocated a room which would not suit, this was easily rectified and were allocated room 11 which was ideal. Very clean...

Have been to this establishment for the last 8 years while on boat holidays and always had very nice meals but this time totally different(10.11.16) we had 2 cod and chips(cod questionable),broccolli and stilton pie (with powered mash potato) and a beef and ale pudding all Microwaved from the freezer, poor service and to top the evening off when we...

We organised a birthday lunch for a party of 20 in the Restaurant on a Saturday. We worked with the hotel on devising a menu so that each guest could select a starter and main ahead of the day. This worked perfectly, so that no guest had to wait to be served whilst others were already eating. The standard of...

The outstanding feature of this hotel is its staff: without exception they were welcoming, efficient, courteous and went out of their way to make sure that we were happy and comfortable. Beds - very comfortable; showers - ok (being upgraded); TV - basic but working; food - excellent and very good value; décor - traditional and in places a little...

Stayed overnight whilst walking with friends. Bar snack in evening very pleasant, room comfortable and good shower. Shame we couldn't get breakfast before 9am as "there isn't really a demand for it" - whilst it was a very nice breakfast it did limit number of hours daylight walking we had available, and one of our party subsequently fell in a...

Just stayed for 5 nights. Upon arrival I was a little worried Looks dated from the outside. They usually say first impressions count. I was shown to my room and was having serious concerns about my stay here.It was room 10, one of their best apparently. A double en-suite room, which I was surprisingly upgraded to. Spacious, clean, but cold. Very...

We had a private function here, 90 people, and no one could fault anything, the decor, tables, and service were all of a very high standard, We were well catered for, all dietary needs, could not fault it.

We popped in just for a drink, encouraged by the 'Les Routiers' sign on the wall, but now suspect that's just a blast from a long-gone past. The garden was the most habitable part of this establishment, but the overflowing ashtrays were rather off-putting, even for two enthusiastic smokers. The choice of wines were desultory. You know this when they...

Thank you, That's all very helpful. The wine is delivered by a national wholesaler every week it has certainly not seen better days. No single bottle of white wine is open (and re-sealed/refrigerated) for more than a couple of hours. Such is the nature of demand. Sorry the range we stock is not to your taste. If we are told...

We were touring the Broads and decided to go a bit out the way. We found this lovely spot and sat in the garden area outside the hotel, what a lovely friendly place it is. We went back later for dinner, in the bar area there was a great atmosphere, people having a good laugh, cosy and the beer was...
