Have stayed here a few times before, but now under new management this year. A characterful pub with oak beams, the only thing lacking was the open fire was not lit. Certainly better than it was and a free breakfast is included in the reasonable room rate. Room was comfortable and clean, although the ensuite was very tired and needs...

Been coming here to stay for a few years now. New ownership who immediately hiked the prices up a substantial amount ! Had dinner , disappointing as not as friendly or personal . Staff do not seem happy . Food was ok . Manager was rude on the phone . Such a beautiful old building that needs its mojo back....

Very good hotel with a lovely room . Food of reasonable quality and superb breakfast! Near to Norwich just off a140. Nice real ales. Spacious but also cosy restaurant / bar area with beams. Plenty of room for larger parties too.

I stayed here on a Friday night, I checked in fairly late and was directed to my room overlooking the garden to get settled in. When I phoned to see if I could get a table for dinner it was no problem at all and I found a reservation in place by the time I had got back down to...

I organised Sunday lunch for a group of 30+ people. Always a little stressful, as you can never be sure until you are seated whether the establishment can cope with so many people at the same time, whether the food will come up to expectations, will it be hot etc. etc. On all counts none of our party were disappointed....

Visited on a cold day in January and found the place warm and welcoming. We sat in the window and enjoyed the extra warmth from sun through the glass. Although there was a good choice of pies and winter puds,we decided on pan fried hake and herb coated chicken. The two meals could not have been more different. The hake...
