I took my husband and parents for a meal here last night. The staff were all lovely and the food was beautiful! nice portion sizes too. We all ordered something different and each of us was really impressed. I would definitely recommend eating in the restaurant, I couldn't comment on the hotel aspect as I haven't stayed but would love...

Stayed here recently on a trip to Yorkshire. While remote, the hotel is lovely. On arrival we were warmly greeted by friendly staff. We were accommodated in one of the lovely cottages, which meant that we were able to park right outside our door. The room was large and comfortable with a good sized bathroom and wide screen tv. We...

We have visited Loftsome Bridge restaurant several times and stayed overnight on one occasion. The food is excellent and well presented. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. There is a lovely room to have a drink before and after your meal. Parking is never a problem as a large well lit car park. We will...

What a great place. Super atmosphere with just the right British laid back style. Beautiful restored rooms with the old cottage feel. Busy even on s Monday as the food is fantastic. If you are of for the true British feel on the country side. Give your self a treat. Only minor drawback is the remoteness but this is a...

Very well appointed hotel. Comfortable rooms and excellent food. The best thing about our stay was the warm welcome and friendly service of the staff. They really are exceptional. The hotel is an easy drive to York (The Designer Outlet Park and Ride is good value) and also handy for Hull. We will certainly return for another stay.

Stayed here for weekend for family birthday. A lovely hotel. Friendly staff. Lovely location. Rooms comfortable. Great breakfast. Did not have a meal in restaurant but if breakfast anything to go by would be well worth it. Sunday lunch fully booked.

We have been visiting the Loftsome for more than 15 years and during this time have never been disappointed. Every year we spend a weekend with friends at the hotel booking the same time from year to year, otherwise we have the Sunday Lunch or mid-week evening meal on two or three occasions each year. The Owners and staff ensure...

We visited with friends and weren't very impressed. As it was a group they made us preorder food prior to our visit.... Only to be informed on arrival they didn't have enough of the dishes! The scollop stater was bland and the lamb as a main was very over cooked, most of the party was unsatisfied. Perhaps the restaurant cannot...

The last time I was at this hotel was 4 years ago and I was happy to find that this week nothing has changed. The staff are warm, friendly, polite, welcoming and offer great service. The rooms are all of a good size and immaculately clean and the food was excellent. The only criticism would be the decor which is...

Working in the local area found this place via TA. Stayed one night in a cottage unit which meant I was able to park right outside the door - ideal for unloading bags and sorting through my car load of stuff. Nice room with widescreen TV etc. restaurant was not overpriced and the food was very good. Staff very friendly...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestling alongside the tranquil River Derwent lies Loftsome Bridge Coaching House. Dating back to 1782, the Coaching Inn as it was known, offered food and shelter to travellers for more than a century. It then became a working farm and guest house. After several years of painstaking restoration, we would like to continue the tradition and offer food and accommodation to the twenty first century traveller. ... more   less
