Colin and Joyce are great hosts, a fund of stories and very useful advice on anything to do with the area. I was doing a LEJOG and someone else doing Pennine Way and we both benefitted. The evening lasagna and the breakfast feast will keep me going for a 100 miles or more yet.

The Forest View was a little haven for those of us on the Spine Race (Full Penniine Way in winter). We were treated like royalty and fed the bext food we'd had hroughout the race. It is a perfect place to explore the Pennine Way and the Cheviots with the facilities needed to sort out gear for walkers. Also a...

What a friendly place! I arrived really late after a long day walking from the Twice brewed pub to find hospitality and shelter in a wild and desolate land. I intended to sleep in my bivouac bag but Colin took pity on me on a freezing October night and allowed me to doss on the sofa. He arranged a great...

I stayed here for two nights at the end of walking the Pennine Way, and it was one of the best places I stayed. As so many other reviewers have said, Colin and Joyce go out of their way to make everything work. I also thought it was excellent value given it included dinner, breakfast, and taxi service for two...

Colin's a natural host, and keeps his beer very well indeed ( I'm a CAMRA member.. ). He and Joyce provide super food and real hospitality - They're a great asset to the area, and their PW pickup service was invaluable !

We stayed at forest view walkers inn at the beginning of September and were very impressed. We were made very welcome and found our room clean and comfortable. The "bar" had four delicious real ales on offer and were kept at just the right temperature! Our dinner that evening and our breakfast the following morning was equally delicious and we...

Joyce and Colin are just the right people to run this excellent stop on the Pennine Way. In short they care about the people who stay. Boots, waterproofs etc are put straight in the drying room and the food is delicious. the little 'shop' is great for stocking up on snacks. I would recommend this stop to anyone walking the...
