House has been in family for generations. Ask hostess about its history. Charming outside and living/breakfast room full of typical breton furniture. Bathroom was large and bed was comfortable. Everything was clean. Floors are creaky and rooms are "dated", but I appreciate that they are not decorated in some cutesy, b and b style, all fluffy and flowery. Stairs to guest rooms are narrow and accessible through the kitchen, so it was a little difficult getting bags up the stairs. Toilet for guest rooms is in separate room off the hall, not en suite. We were only guests, so it didn't matter. Close walk to the church and shops and cafes, and just a little bit longer walk to see the coastline. A good bargain. Breakfast typical fare, but good.

We got the ferry from Cork to Roscoff and decided to explore the most western area of France before our trip south. We weren't disappointed because there was a low key non touristic lifesavers festival on in the village when we arrived, with plenty of local seafood and a choir full of tenors and traditional Breton instruments. Unique! The house was well situated with plenty of parking out front and circled by a garden and courtyard full of character. It was very quiet despite being in the centre of the village. We also cycled to the breathtaking Le Pointe de St Mathieu nearby and our host Isabelle was very helpful and accommodating when we came home soaking wet from an Atlantic shower! The house is very pretty and steeped in history and I recommend this house and area if you are looking for something unique and off the beaten track.
