We have really loved our 4 night stay in Casa Zinc. We were given an upgrade, and loved the Architect and the Design Studios: the windows and the furniture were perfect. The breakfasts were also very good, in a lovely, atmospheric room, with fresh orange juice and croissants. Victoria and Estefany took very good care of us, including when we... More

Stumbled on the quiet luxury of Casa Zinc by a word of mouth recommendation. On a residential street and not a stroll on the main drag kind of place, the perfect dinner bistro was a short walk away, the room and court yard where idyllic and service was great. A special environment made for the best days of vacation.

I stayed for 10 nights at Casa Zinc in the Biblioteca room with my partner and we both loved the experience. Staff are incredibly capable and very friendly, yet professional - the place has a unique style with laid back old furniture mixed with comfy beds and crisp white sheets - breakfast is wonderful too. La Barra is the perfect... More

One of the best places I've ever stayed. Casa Zinc is the perfect combination of substance and style. There is no shortage of good taste in everything from the wine in the room to the shower and big sink in the bathroom, big comfy leather chairs to sit and read in, and Adirondack chairs on the patio. The morning breakfast... More

Casa Zinc was superb! The staff were most helpful in planning our stay, anything was possible! We loved the location as was walking distance from La Barra and a short drive from Punta and Jose Ignacio. We can't wait to come back one day!

Conscientious, helpful and friendly staff made this a terrific experience. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. Not fussy, just right. In a peaceful location, you can go to relax or join the crowds in Punta or La Barra. Lots of great things to do and see within driving distance. Casa Zinc has the feel of a home away... More

When I was planning my trip to Punta del Este, I was thinking about going to a nice, well placed hotel from where to discover the town and its surroundings. La Barra seemed a nice place to be lodged as it's midway from Punta del Este and Jose Ignacio. And then, looking around, i found a hidden gem: Casa Zinc.... More

Casa Zinc in La Barra, Uruguay is an absolutely charming boutique hotel well worth searching out. At first glance, this hotel is at least a hundred years old and stunning in its own way. The truth is, it is only 5 years old and is built from completely recycled materials, down to the bricks and plumbing fixtures. The rooms are... More

This is a gem in a humble residential neighborhood just 20 minutes east of bustling Punta del Este. A wooden door leads to the courtyard of this interesting brick building. The breakfast room/office has huge windows and collection of old things: globes, maps, bottles, books and more. The architecture books on the center table hint at the owner's talents, and... More

This is a very small hotel renovated with exquisite, refined taste. Every detail is well thought out and carries from the moment you open the Zinc metal doors and peek inside. We'd had a long drive and were welcomed, offered a nice coffee, and given an opportunity to relax before even being shown our room. We immediately felt at home.... More
