We stayed for one night on our way to Montevideo from Rocha. The hotel looks very nice, our room was very spacious, high ceiling, plenty of light and a balcony overlooking the pool. We were not explained anything about the facilities, breakfast. The reception team was not particularly friendly. In the afternoon we decided to ask about the Spa and one of the guys at reception said. "You are not staying with us right"? Well... yes we are, we are not passer by people enquiring about the Spa. Not impressed at all. We came across 2 or 3 members of staff who were welcoming and helpful. I would suggest the management to train the staff on manners and how to make your paying guests feel welcome and willing to come back. We have stayed in much cheaper hotels in Punta del Este and felt 100 times more welcome. Sometimes less is more. …
Staff is really kind, however the hotel needs a strong refurbishment. Rooms are extremely small and some of them smell like being closed for decades. Spa is abandoned and the casino area -which no longer works- is a depressing desert. Last: daily fee includes breakfast wether you want it or not. But it starts so late that you cannot take it on your last morning there if you want to catch the ferry to Buenos Aires. They admitted they know it but still do not offer anything for solving nor give you a refund for your not taken mandatory breakfast. Will not be back, but honestly most lodges in Punta del Este feel like scam. Just “smoke sellers.”
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed an all too brief stay at the Punts Del Este Resort. Beatuful grounds and a very attentive and responsive staff made up for a somewhat older building in style which was maintained in excellent and updated, modern condition (bathroom and bedroom). We would not hesitate to return as well as recommend it. Great pains were taken to assist us with the wine selection at dinner. Excellent menu choices. We also enjoyed lunch service at the pool by a very attentive young man. The restaurant and wines are under the management of the genial Jeronimo Tellarini. Assisting the details of our travel arrangements was the capable and well-spoken concierge Nicolas Roodveldt.
Be careful when going to the hairdressers here if your Spanish is limited. Got a quote to have my hair coloured and cut, but when came to pay the price was double !! They did not do a good job. Have know idea how to do foils etc. Paid to avoid any ill feeling but would not recommend. Overpriced and underserved !
The hotel is very old, there are molds in the rooms, the bathrooms are dirty. The hotel area is very small. There is a small pool. A lot of bleach in the pool. The distance from the hotel to the sea is about 1 km...too far..The staff is absolutely not friendly. Breakfast is terrible, there is no choice. The hotel has a casino, which is closed, some buildings are abandoned, and look like in a dead city .. Hotel reviews are not true. We do not recommend staying here.
