For me you can't really go wrong with the price. After staying in dormitories it was lovely to have my own space & room here. I hadn't planned to go to the West Coast but after recent events found myself on this diversion. The stand in manager was lovely, showed me around even letting me have access to another bathroom...

The hostel was Clean and roomy, had a nice kitchen and comfortable lounge area. The beautiful gardens and lovely sun room good for relaxing and reading in were the highlights of this place. Owner was very friendly and helpful.

A lovely, charming old building with good facilities and helpful, friendly service. It would be great if the owners could sort out the central heating at some point as it hums at night a bit. Other than that everything is great and at $85 for a double room it's a great price.

We had a fantastic stay here. It was freezing out but the whole Guest house was warm and toasty. The manager was very helpful and friendly. The lounge was very comfortable and homely and the kitchen had everything you could possibly want and more. Would highly recommend. She beats sterile motel rooms.

For a guest house/back packers lodge this place was amazing. Manger went out of his way to help me. Comfortable rooms in near refurbished condition. Kitchen well appointed and spotless as was the rest of the place.

Fourteen of us stayed a night here before going on to bike the Old Ghost Road. You couldn't ask for a nicer setting, and peaceful surrounds. Rooms are clean, lounges good, and it's warm. Great town, and great place to stay. Good wifi too if you're that way inclined.

If you want something a bit different to a backpackers hostel then this is the place. Well run by lovely staff, clean and tidy rooms. Bed linen and towels provided, just bring your own food and cook in the well appointed kitchen. It is a walk away from the shops and nature walks and offers swimming in the river or...

Much like the rest of Reefton, this guesthouse was very quaint. We only stopped briefly for a night, but found the Old Nurses Home Guesthouse to be clean, quiet & friendly. Loved the bathroom decor & the shower was superb! Would definitely stay here again.

The hostel was recommended by the very helpful dreadlocked lady at the Info. Bureau in Reefton. The manager was also pretty cool. It is basically a big backpackers, with plenty of space throughout and nice gardens. We were there in May when it was quiet, and the only drawback might be the number of bathrooms if it was really busy.

“All rooms look out on a garden but some view the inner courtyard which has a lovely garden. Could do with a row of light, inner curtains so you can leave the heavy ones open. Usual problem with hotels.”
