A relatively small hotel who's key strength is the location set on the Grand Canal and adjacent to Ca'd'Oro water bus station. As you get off the courtyard looks onto the main landing site, which can be noisey and so be carful as to a canal view/noise. It is decorated in the traditional manner and everything is well in line...

Pesaro Palace is a beautiful, ornate and very Venetian hotel, crammed with Morino glass chandeliers, gold brade walls and fine furniture. A great location, with a water taxi stop just outside the hotel and withinwalking distance of all the main sights. Bedrooms large and opulent. Very clean. One of the main assets of the hotel is their exemplary receptionist, Paula,...

Right on the Grand Canal, within easy walking distance to all of the sites around town. Very nice breakfast that can be included in your price per night. Has a dock for water taxi arrival and right next door to an Water bus station. Highly recomended!!!

We took public transport from the cruise terminal. The ACTV stops right outside the door. Easy Peasy! Check in great. Staff very nice and accommodating. Beautiful room on the fourth floor. Only problem was that the room was dated. As with other reviews, the wallpaper was stained, and we never did sit on the couch - it was pretty gross....

Just returned from a 5 day stay at the pesaro palace! The location of this beautiful hotel is absolutely ideal! Situated along the grand canal & walking distance to Rialto & San Marco! One of the main vaparetto water bus stops is literally at the door& the hotel backs onto a bustling street of restaurants and shops. The staff were...

Stayed for 2 nights, our room was 209, which was very nicely decorated, not dated at all, very typically Venetian and romantic . Bathroom had a nice corner bath and a separate showe cabin too.eveything was clean. Breakfast was ok, could have been a bit more choice, but there was plenty to eat and all staff very really friendly and...

A lot of the hotels look the same so we really didn't know what to pick. This was really nice. The room we had was canal view and it was huge. Room 101 and u could stand outside on ledge and watch the canal. Close to a gondola stop to pay 2 euros to get across canal to fish market....

Sitting on the grand Canal next to Ca' D'Oro Gallery and water bus stop. You can sit in the hotels garden and watch Venice life float by. You can walk to all the attractions from here so the Location is brilliant. The Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were gaudy glass and very dated. The walls of our room...

Stayed here for one night and all in all had a great stay. Hotel is beautiful! Suite 101 was amazing, massive room, huge bed and bathroom and great views of the grand canal. Staff were helpful and hotel was within walking distance of everywhere. One thing to bear in mind is that with grand canal views comes grand canal noise...

A distinctly average hotel in a great location. Room was lovely, bed was exceptionally hard, as were the pillows. It's also quite noisy outside, but that's what you get being on the Grand Canal with a waterbus stop on your doorstep. You soon get used to it. Breakfast was very poor. Meats and cheese choices were very warm by the...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
