We ate here on Sunday last, the service was very good and really quick. The food was very good I had mince and suet pudding which was very tasty. The staff were also very pleasant. My only problem was the walk with a wheelchair from the car park to the pub, there were numerous potholes which made it difficult.

Came to the Anchor for Sunday lunch and it was incredible, the food was superb, we got the soup to start and I had beef and my husband had lamb, absolutely no complaints on the food front! The staff however, one lady in particular (older slim lady) was extremely rude towards the other staff members and towards customers, rolling her...

We booked to stay here (book direct for a better rate), while at a friends wedding. The hotel was lovely, clean and welcoming. The food was very good, and seemed to have plenty locals using it too, which always speaks volumes. Our bedroom was excellent, we stayed in Derewynt, and to open the shutters in the morning to look onto...

We stayed here for two nights while in Northumberland for a wedding. The room was large, well equipped and the staff friendly. The breakfast was great and the evening meal we enjoyed on our first night was excellent - great value. I would recommend this as a place to stay if visiting the area.

Have visited this pub in the past a few years ago. Was good then so decided to try again. Sunday roast with a vegetable soup to start included in the price. The soup came with a fresh baked roll and butter. Very tasty meal. There were also other alternatives if you did not want a roast meat.

When I ordered drinks at the bar the mature barmaid was as quiet and rude as any barmaid I have ever met. When our dog barked she...

Returned for lunch having visited here last year. Standard of food still very high. Some excellent specials and everything seem fresh and well prepared by chefs. Portions size is good you will not leave hungry. Service is varied depending on your server ( top marks to the slim mature Lady ). Returning with our family for evening dinner so hope...
