The hosts are excellent. The room was spacious, well appointed and had lovely garden views. The location is isolated but if you need to recharge yourself without crowds this is the place. The canoeing to the beach was lovely and we were the only ones on the Beach. The best specimens of driftwood on the beach I have ever seen....

Quite an isolated location but an incredibly beautiful house and grounds with fantastic views from our room. The room was spotlessly clean and well furnished. Ideally situated for local attractions and numerous walks. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.

A warm welcome greeted us to the comfortable and well equipped accomodation. Ideal for those on their way to, or coming from, the FranzJosef and Fox glaciers. Beautiful setting with enthusiastic and knowledgeable hosts.

My husband and I got a shuttle from Hokitika airport to the lodge before beginning the west coast wilderness trail. It's only 10km from the start, and is a really lovely place to stay and relax. A good couple of nights could be had here. We didn't have dinner here, but we did arrive at the end of it, and...

A wonderful stay and perfect accommodation if you want to explore the rugged west coast of New Zealand South Island, especially if you want to be away from the busy resort areas of Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier, but still close enough for a day out to either one. This is a real wilderness retreat in a beautiful home....

If you would like to be surrounded by nature (much of it native plants), peace and quite, the sound of the beach surf, and nature at its best this is the BNB for you. I love birds and found many to add to my New Zealand list. Kathy also knows her birds and can tell you what you are seeing....

The Paramata Lodge is a real wilderness retreat. The home and its surrounding property mixed with its passionate and knowledgeable host Kathy, makes this lodge a great find! Kathy is also an excellent cook. We highly recommend that you have her cook dinner for you. The alternative is to drive quite far for a meal... why not experience fine dining...

The hosts, Kathy and Neil were very nice, helpful and exceedingly knowledgable about the surroundings and the environment. The walks on the extensive property were beautiful and enormously interesting. The regeneration process performed by the hosts are impressive and greatly successful. The food provided was excellent. We highly recommend this lodge to anyone interested in nature and a peacefulness.

First class in hospitality. When you want to be pampered and simultaneously enjoy great company. A getaway on our road trip down South, our first stop Paramata Lodge. Great room with contemporary en-suite. Lovely top quality sheets and bedding. Evening meal (with a good choice of New Zealand wines) was a delight, conscious of food provenance with locally sourced or...
