Detailed Reviews
My friend and I recently stayed in Les Chambre Cathares, for 3 nights and we had an experience of a life time.
Terry and Bénédicte, were the friendliest and most welcoming hosts that you could have.
Their passion for Medieval History, and re-enactment runs throughout the B&B, which makes this place fascinating and fun.
Terry allowed us to dress up in some of the period clothes, while Bénédicte described what we were wearing.
The bedroom we had was lovely and comfortable. We slept very well, with no disturbances.
Breakfast was vast and exquisite, thanks to Bénédictes Crêpes.
This is a place we will never forget. Beautiful memories were created.
We are already planning our next visit in the Summer.
My friend will kill me for using these photos, but I'm sure she will get over it.

Terry and Benedicite are very welcoming hosts with great knowledge of area and also if history is your thing they are expert guides. They are also multi lingual including Bavarian German and nothing is too much trouble for them to sort for you.
Rooms are charming and the food plentiful and delicious. Looking forward to next visit!

We so enjoyed our two nights at Chambres Cathares with our lovely hosts, Terry and Benedicte and their adorable dog, Hades. The village of Servies-en-Val is very small, boasting one grocery and one bar, but at least four mules, many sheep and lots of vineyards. If you want an authentic stay in a medieval village that is close to Carcassonne and Lagrasse, stay here. If you're a Game of Thrones fan, you will feel right at home. Our hosts were fluent in English, French, German and Spanish, so you will be greeted warmly regardless of your country of origin. Our rooms were very comfortable, the Wi-Fi signal was adequate, the parking was complimentary, the breakfasts were delicious, and the conversation was always stimulating. If you're lucky, Terry will let you try on his suit of armour. Be prepared to pay cash for your stay --there is an ATM down the road if you need it.

Nice place run by a single guy, who is a bit absent-minded but funny, and who speak english. Rooms are tidy and nice, and breakfast is good. They also have free wi-fi. The town is small and in the middle of nothing but can offer some nice view and has a good restaurants. Price was very good (about 60€ for a double room).

We stopped off here for the night on our way to visit Carcassonne.
It was lovely. The house has been nicely restored, making it comfortable and modern, whilst retaining its character.
The beds were comfortable which is so important as getting a good night's sleep makes all the difference :-).
The room and shower room/toilet were spotless as was the bedding.
The breakfast was delicious; fresh bread from the local boulangerie, pains au chocolat, orange juice, several little porcelain pots with different jams to choose from and a choice of hot drink.
The owner was friendly and hospitable yet discrete.
The cherry on the cake is the position of the place. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the pretty little village of Servies en Val is not far from Lagrasse which is well worth a visit.
Yes, all in all, we were very happy!

We stayed at the Chambres Cathares over Easter and had the most relaxing stay ever. The house is simply gorgeous and has recently been renovated, keeping a rustic yet clean and charming French feel! The landlord was very friendly and welcoming and as it was our first stay in the area, gave us lots of insiders' tips on authentic places to go and visit out of the beaten tracks. We stayed for five nights in the Chambre Cathare, and we were given a tour and had the option to have a look at other rooms but stuck with our first choice. Everything in the room was immaculately clean, and the bedding very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning offered a good choice and was home cooked, coming from England, we loved the French breakfast and fresh pastries! The stunning area of Carcassonne, the good food, the owner's welcoming and friendly demeanour, the cleanliness and the overall charming house made our stay very special and we will definitely come back!
