Don't forget, you are in outback! There is no other accommodation hundreds of miles away. We enjoyed our one night stay at Glen Helen. Very friendly staff, small but clean room overlooking the rock. You can even swim in the gorge nearby. The restaurant was cozy and the food quite tasty.

Great views of the river and mountains behind this establishment, perhaps they could knock down the buildings and just have a picnic area there to improve the natural surroundings. Very sad and run down establishment. Called in to have lunch on our journey, only to be told the kitchen closed 5 minutes ago. There were four of us, surely they...

Stayed here two nights in our caravan. Ate in the award winning restaurant and I was quite skeptical. The meals were exceptional all round winner. I had the pork belly and it was great. My husband had the venison it was good and my eldest son had the kangaroo it was the highlight. Would recommend to anyone. Such an unexpected...

Our Swags were on the edge of the river and we camped in a circle of trees with our own fire pit. There was live music in the bar and the drinks were reasonably priced. This is my favourite campsite so far.

This makes a great stopover before returning to Alice Springs (1 & 1/2 hours drive). The location is ideal, with a terrace looking out over onto a sheer red rock face above the Finke river. Sunrise and sunset over Mount Sonder are only a few minutes drive or walk away too. You can swim in the river closeby. The rooms...

I am aware that the Glen Helen Homestead Lodge recently changed their name so as not to give unreal expectations to visitors expecting a resort. No matter what you call this place it is what it is. A camping ground with some shacks in the middle of nowhere. Like so many others we were shocked to see the state of...

Dear AlbertSalichs thanks for your review. Yes, as many have observed, the prices seem high for simple rooms. We cannot charge city prices because our costs are not city costs, simple as that. and also as I have said many times we know renovations are desirable but the Landlord must decide when these are done. Kind regards Shelagh O'Brien

Unfortunately i did not get to share the same experience as some of the other reviewers. I stood patiently for about 7 minutes then asked if i could be served. She reluctantly...
