Main entrance is around the back ... and worth visiting. Lovely food and option of smaller portion for the goldie oldies in the party. the smoked haddock was lovely, and the fish and chips also enjoyed. great desserts .. all in lovely surroundings. glad i booked as quite busy for a Wednesday lunch time.

Concentrating on Sunday Roasts ,with a few specials as well, the shared starter ,followed by the Pork ,with a small portion as requested ,were all excellent, despite the obvious pressures imposed on the kitchen staff, coping with a large private party . Once again, viewed the sweet menu, great choices but couldn,t indulge!

We hired the private dining room for a retirement dinner and the service from Alex and the team was faultless. We were due to eat at 18.30 with a canapé champagne reception however by 19.30 two of our party still hadn't arrived. Whilst greatly annoying to me the team were not phased in the slightest and once seated in the...

Spent the night and what fantastic accommodation, the bathroom is well set out and the bed so cosy and clean. The meal was suburb as was breakfast. The staff are spot on, professional, friendly and willing to please. We will be going back for sure. The atmosphere and surrounds were awesome as well. Loved it.

We booked part of our wedding party into the delightful cottage rooms, with the usher's lunch being hosted here as well last weekend, for my daughter's wedding in Coxwold. There are not enough superlatives to describe how wonderful this place is, it never disappoints and has been at the top of its game for so long now. Long may it...

Came here after a walk around Sutton bank on a recommendation and it didn't disappoint. The service was impeccable, it was nice to talk to staff who are informed on what they are selling and attentive to your needs. The food was amazing half way through the starters my partner said we are definitely staying for dessert (we where planning...

But, delicious dinner (terrific sea food) and very warm hospitable staff and comfortable "cottage" accommodation with bird song outside makes me determined to visit again for a little longer as the surrounding countryside is lovely, with the City of York only 20 minutes drive away. Super!

We knew it would be good - the locals rave about this place (with a few grumbles about the price) but to be honest - its worth every penny. We had eaten here before and knew the food was excellent - locally sourced and highest quality. We booked into the bed and breakfast hoping for a treat and we weren't...

It is not often you get a separate vegetarian menu, and although it was not particularly inspired it was appreciated. Service was patchy, we had to ask for water, glasses and addition cutlery. My wife's asparagus salad would have been perfect if the duck egg had been cooked. It was sorted very quickly and a perfectly cooked egg was delivered. The...
