The most recent visit to this lovely pub / restaurant was for dinner on a Saturday evening with 3 friends . The restaurant was very busy but service was good and we were well looked after by all the staff. I was the only member of our group who could manage 3 courses and everything was very well cooked and...

From the welcome from the manager to the attention of the dining room staff to the bright cheeriness of the person at breakfast. All very friendly and extremely professional. The food is faultless - I wanna eat there again! Stayed in the main Studio which is in the main pub area (although you have to go outside to reach it)....

Needed a dog friendly pub for a lunch with friends and came across the wonderful Durham Ox. Really good food , although service a little slow. Place was busy , but they had a large table in a back room , which for the 9 of us was perfect. Really surprised that there were no baby changing facilities, staff suggested we...

This place is amazing. It's great for relaxing and getting away from everything. Food is amazing and the room we had (field) was lovely with everything you need inc a DVD player. There is also a full vegetarian menu which makes a nice change. Would highly recommend.

Our experience could not have been any better. The food, the beer, the rooms - really pleased and will return. Our room was really good, clean and well presented - and able to take our dog with us too! All in all 10/10

This was the second time we had stayed here and this time was just as good as the first. We got a very good deal for two nights midweek - although by the number of people in the pub each evening, it felt like the weekend. Lovely cottage room with fabulous walk-in shower (no bath) - perhaps a little tight...

Excellent fayre...!!! We stopped at this excellent hostelry for Sunday lunch without booking (I would advise you do!!) and were lucky to get a table. Outstanding service, wonderful food and a great atmosphere. One of the best Sunday lunches I have experienced for many a year. Worth the trip.

We stayed in the green cottage, spacious room, small shower room. TV area and settee. Bed looked sumptuous, but a bit firm. Heating stayed on all night a bit overpowering despite turning it down. Food service excellent plenty of choices, ribeye steak and accompaniments spot on. Decent pint of Black Sheep too. In different circumstances the location is ideal for...

We visited the Durham Ox as part of a stay that included "A Christmas Carol". This was set in Scrooge's own parlour (the barn). From arriving, we were impressed with the facilities within the various bars and the accommodation. The "little things" made our stay so very enjoyable... a good selection of beers; comfy beds; jug of fresh milk in...

Having stayed at and eaten at a Provenance Inn pubs before, I was keen to try the Durham Ox and I'm delighted to say my high expectations were certainly met. Our room was very comfortable and clean with a lovely bathroom and all the finishing touches you'd expect from a quality hotel - I particularly like the Yorkie bar! If...
