Drive up the narrow lane off the country road west of Ampleforth to find the centuries old farmhouse nestling in an idyllic garden - with wild as well as cultivated flowers in summer. We've stayed at Carr House Farm for 2 years running whilst enjoying a few days at the Ryedale Music Festival in July. As stairs are a problem... More

Anna really enjoys her job and gives excellent value. You are made to feel at home. Lovely quiet country setting. Rooms nice & big. Husband Jack is an ex-jumps jockey with a tale or 2 to tell. I could go on but take it from me, you will be pleased. Dr H. Jones, Wales

From Anna's warm greeting with homeade tea and cakes, to the fabulous room, a truly lovely stay. Couldn't fault the room or the breakfast. Would definitely stay there again.

What a beautiful cottage set in beautiful surroundings which came with the wonderful Anna who made me laugh (a lot) with stories of the countrylife. It was a pity we could only stay a couple of nights and we thank our friend Barry for finding this lovely B&B. It had been my first visit to Yorkshire and what a wonderful... More

We loved our two night stay in this countryside B&B . Anna is a wonderful host and helped us figure out what to do and where to eat in North Yorkshire. Her recommendations were always spot on. There are a number of English Heritage sites nearby and we spent a wonderful afternoon picnicking at Helmsley Castle just 15mins drive away.... More

We had to make a visit to North Yorkshire at very short notice and soon ran into trouble since York Races were about to get under-way and had caused a shortage of good quality accommodation for miles around the course. Luck was on our side, however, as we came across the Carr House web site which included a massive amount... More
