Just home after an absolutely fantastic stay at the unique Fa'side castle. Cannot rate this place highly enough. We were warmly welcomed by the gorgeous Sue and her husband Ian (Not forgetting Hamish their scottish setter!) Sue gave us an informed tour of what we...More
I still can't believe this place is real! Getting to stay in a castle tower in Edinburgh is amazing. From the glass viewing port over the dungeon to the Laird's lug and great hall, it's beyond anything we imagined. Gorgeous bedroom with Emperor size bed,...More
The owner, Ian, and his dog gave us a warm welcome as soon as we came through the gate. Ian was just lovely and spent a significant amount of time sharing with us the history of his 700+ year old castle. The rooms were massive...More

Lovely welcome from Sue & Ian. A 14th century turetted castle just outside of Edinburgh. This castle was due to be demolished but a couple came along & saved it-great, they have done a fabulous job of bringing IT back to its former glory. We...More

They only rent out the old part of the castle now-they used to rent out three converted barns, but not now. You rent out 3 floors. The first one is the grand hall - which is a sitting/tv etc room with a lot of fabulous history. And you also rent the next floor which is the bedroom with a huge kingsize bed/ensuite/kitchen/dining. Both rooms are huge and take up the whole floor from x3 sides of the castle. You also have access to the rooftop with fabulous views. The castle has a lot of history which turned out to be part of my ancestry-well worthwhile experience & the owners a terrific. They live in the front (newer part) of the castle. If you are interested in history its a great place to stay (complete with dungeon & much more.) Go for it......highly recommend
