I use to go about 4 times a year , but the hotel is now closed until further notice. The location is 3 hours from Port-au-Prince . The gardens are beautiful and the food is great . The beach below was not great, but 5 minutes away there is St Georges
My girlfriend and i visited this place several times. The owner is so nice and friendly and we now call him Uncle Bob. His food is creative and all come from his garden and sea. He has artistic sense which shows all in the property. She and I have a lot of memories there. I highly recommend this place if you are into culture, food and nature.
Tucked away off the main road in St. Louis, Jardins sur Mer was quite a surprise. The property is built into the contours of the hill which overlooks the ocean and the rooms have some of the most incredible views of the sunrise. The owner, Bob, is very hospitable and an amazing storyteller of the lived history of Haiti. A true character, which made a special place even more special. The food is delicious, local and fresh. We ordered eggs in addition to our continental breakfast and the eggs are from the chicken on the property, as were the Abricots which made our jelly.
I have stayed here twice. It is a beautiful place, especially as the sun rises over the ocean in the morning. If you like, go for a hike around the area. It's beautiful! There is a great beach nearby. Their restaurant provides very tasty and decoratively served meals. Steak for dinner and omelet for breakfast made with fresh eggs. There is also fresh fruit and delicious juices. Bob (the owner) is super friendly, helpful and outgoing. The only down-side were the mosquitoes when the power went out.
We were a group of 3 adults, 1 kid and 1 infant. we called several times before getting there and the price always changed. upon arrival they gave us the ugliest room in the back with no view. the room was basic, really basic and dirty. the bathroom didn't have a door. we called service to put on at least a curtain. we had asked for a double twin instead they gave us a twin period. two small beds, one additional was placed later and with two kids it's unthinkable. the owner changed price 4 times before the bill came. telling his own stories. food was very good but 20 us each plate. again, too much. the location is wonderful, the view breath taking, the structure basic but nice, for a place "an dehor", in the province, it was very good. work with the owner, he's a business man, and you will get additional service. it doesnt have a beach in the property, you have to drive 1km to get there. but it's fantastic, full of palm trees all the way and very clean. just a lot of waves. definitely worth it if you do not expect the american way!…
