A welcoming atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The mattresses were great. Everything was clean. We were there in the winter and all the rooms had their own heat pump so it was easy to control the temperature. The hostess was super helpful and always responded swiftly and with a smile to all our requests. Because we were a big group we were able to access and use all the common spaces which made it very easy for our group to meet and use the dinning room.

The property offers a spacious parking lot conveniently located near the house. The room we stayed in was not very large but extremely clean and comfortable, making it perfect for my husband and me. The hosts were incredibly kind and thoughtful, providing bread and jam for a simple but delightful breakfast. The room also features a heat pump, ensuring cozy and warm. We particularly appreciated the decoration of the house. Highly recommend it!

We were a team with around 30 guests and we were warmly welcomed by the host, which made us feel right at home. The house has a beautiful classical decor, creating a charming and cozy atmosphere. The kitchen has the food which is perfect for breakfast.

Upon checking in, a previous guest, who was booked in our room, had wanted to stay two more days. The owners had lost our email and had tried to phone our home number the day before but we were already gone. We had to wait around for about 45 min. for the people to be moved and our room cleaned or have a room on the 3rd floor. Our room was already on the 1st floor and we had to go up a steep set of stairs to it. So we opted for waiting and were given 10% off for the trouble.

Since booking several months ago, the guest house no longer offered a hot breakfast, but did offer toast, muffins, fruit cups, yogurt and hard boiled eggs. But only to guests that had paid the higher room fees like we did. We noticed several guests who had booked after us, thought they got breakfast but we had to tell them what happened. The breakfast area was very small with only offering one large table for 8 guests and the table was very crowded with all the food items that we had to pick from.

Rooms were comfortable but showers could be stronger. There was poor pressure between rooms. Insulation is poor between rooms also.

Best things about the place: comfortable bed, friendly owners and the discount we were given.

Response from Jing Bai, General Manager at Prince County Guest House
Responded Dec 9, 2024
I’m so sad that I and my family did out of our way to cared you and your husband, you still left a bad review with exaggerated information. First, you only wait no more than 25 minutes. it is very normal to have a current guest who wants an extra stay. We discussed with you, you didn’t agree, then we cleaned the room for you immediately. You sit in a living room, a comfortable sofa and enjoyed the cool air, and also got a discount, and I gave you more service than you deserve during your stay. Second, we did breakfast for a couple months, we provided certificates of the restaurant next door, but it closed later, we have to lowered our rate to no breakfast. For those already paid for breakfast, we have to ask if they want eat onsite or have cash back, you chose eat onsite. The food we provided valued more than we paid to restaurant. I feel so funny that you think it is a negative thing that you have more food on the table. We have so many sitting area in and out, upstairs and downstairs. Third, this is an traditional building that walls are not sound-proof, we state it in our guest directory which placed in each room, so our guests all did super quiet in the night, even 16 rooms are all occupied, there is still super quiet I am confident of this. I told you as well as every guest if you are not satisfied with our property, please cancel your booking without any penalty, I don’t want service you by our sincere heats and get a bad result of both of us. We really feel heartbroken!

First off, Prince County is no longer a B&B, but a "Guest House", so breakfast is no longer included. When we arrived, I called the number in the booking to get the access code for the room and it went straight to voice mail. We knocked on the door to the kitchen (for the pub) and the fellow could not speak English well, so another gentleman came out shortly. He showed us the room and gave us a business card with the door code (do they give the same info to each guest? not very secure). We found our room - Stewart (No. 5) - had enough room and was fine for a night. Please note: If you are staying in rooms 4 or 5, they overlook a covered outdoor verandah on the second floor that is accessible to all guests, so we kept our curtains closed. Also, these rooms are above the kitchen (for the pub), so could hear voices/noise, but it did not go on late.

Very charming inn located in a great location for exploring Prince Edward Island. Our room was very comfortable - fluffy pillows and super soft comforter. The manager went out of her way to accommodate us. She quickly got another room ready for us when we realized that the 3rd floor would not work for us. The property has plenty of parking.

The best thing about this place is the owner. Jing is more than willing to go the extra mile to make your stay wonderful. The bed was super comfortable and the atmosphere is wonderful. We keep coming back again and again. Oh yes, did I mention the excellent coffee?

My husband and I stayed at Prince County B&B for a few days when we visited PEI last week and it will be difficult to top this B&B. Herb is such a wonderful host. He makes amazing breakfasts and he's a really nice guy! Our room was perfect and more comfortable then our Ottawa apartment. It was nice to mingle with other guests in the common dining room during breakfast. I highly reccomend this place and will definitely stay here again the next time I visit PEI :) THANKS HERB!!

Our arrival at Prince County Bed and Breakfast was the start of a disappointing stay.

Check in is only from 3-6 pm we were traveling and arrived at8:30 pm to find an envelope pinned to the outside door frame with our name and room access code, which we did not think was very secure.

Inside the front door there is a sign requiring guests to remove foot ware prior to going to ones room.
Our room was located on the third floor which meant that one had to carry luggage up two narrow stair cases.
The room was very small and had a stale smoke smell.
The room was musty and both my and I began sneezing.
We had to keep both the window open and kept the window air conditioning running all of the time.
There was a tiny bathroom in the room.
The toilet was on a pedestal about two inches off the floor the corners of which proved to be a constant area to stub ones toes.
The shower stall and I mean stall was something else, barely enough room to turn around and the temperature control was non existent the water temperature went from comfortable to either freezing cold or scolding hot in an instant.

The breakfast portion of the bed and breakfast consisted of a walk across the street to a greasy spoon diner.
Although the house Has a well equipped kitchen we were not encouraged to use the facilities.
The note on the door had advised us to pay for the stay the morning after our arrival.
It was as though we were imposing and the host was not very informative about the area or things to do or see.

I would not recommend this establishment

My family and I had an amazing stay at the Prince County Bed and Breakfast. Everything was super clean and the decor was amazing. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The only thing was that breakfast took a while to come. To get breakfast you have to use a voucher at a nearby restaurant.
