Our mission is to provide a safe space for guests to find themselves aligned and authentic so that they may return to their environment with the courage and clarity to create meaningful change. We create this space with four main pillars of experience: Yoga: Meaningful yoga practice is a fundamental component to the Peace Retreat experience, illustrated by the fact that the majority of our management team members are certified yoga instructors. Food: We use a variety of local, minimally processed ingredients and Ayurvedic food principles to support our “food is medicine” approach. Body: Grounded in the value of self-love, our open air Body at Peace Spa allows guests to relax, receive, and remove stored energy from the body. Ceremony: Our robust Ceremony at Peace menu provides guests with the opportunity to tap into a collective energy beyond themselves in order to foster meaningful change.

Spent four days at Peace Retreat in early 2020. Kevin (owner) was frequently seen calmly tidying the surroundings, tending to guests' needs and working with his staff. Jess (behind the desk) was buoyant and friendly no matter the time or day. The rest of the staff was helpful, warm and welcoming.

Roustic surroundings - definitely in the jungle. Nearby, the small town has a few killer restaurants as well as a beach resort where you can surf, boogie-board, or soak up the sun.

Food was delicious and fresh. Rooms were cleaned everyday.

All in all, a wonderful place to stay.

If you are thinking about booking a stay at Peace Retreat, do not hesitate to do so. As a solo traveler, I had no idea what my experience would be like, but I made a whole group of friends on day 1! And since it is a rolling trip, new people are always coming and going.

There are nearby shops, the beach is beautiful, and the food was all amazing. We wanted to arrange a trip to the nearby town of Tamarindo and they set up absolutely everything for us to make it as easy as possible. And I definitely recommend the peace massage and stand-up paddle boarding!

When I woke up back home this morning, I couldn't help but wish I could go back to one of Kevin's morning yoga classes. I stayed in one of the main rooms instead of the cabana and every day my room was cleaned and kept fresh. The whole place is remarkably clean for being in the middle of the jungle. A truly unforgettable week.

I had the most amazing experience at Peace Retreat, the location is remote and very peaceful, you hear the sounds of the forest which was very enchanting. Accommodations were very clean and comfortable. My experience at the Spa was 5 stars! I had the Peace Massage and Papaya body mask and both services were performed with the highest level of skill and care. Food was very good, fresh and easily accessible throughout the day. Excursions were fun and very professionally managed. I ziplined, rode a horse on the beach and hiked the forest to a waterfall-unforgettable! The best part were the yoga classes which were an excellent opportunity for me to bond with my group and experience a great mind-body connection. I highly recommend Peace Retreat, it is definitely good for the body and your soul. Enjoy.

I'd consider myself... we'll say extremely selective when it comes to practice & retreat, and Peace proved to be one of the absolute best I've experienced. Their teachers are phenomenal, practice is authentic, food is nourishing, and the environment is supportive & serene (if you're sensitive to sound I suggest sharing that with staff in case there's construction going on nearby).

Facilities are kept very clean and the staff is basically a band of yogis –– compassionate, motivated & very happy to help.

The spa is next level and offers everything from massage to reflexology to energy healing, and if you visit while any sort of ceremony is offered (cacao, sweat lodge, etc.) I can't give a higher recommendation.
I had quite the 'ah hah' experience during my second sweat lodge which proved to be the perspective shift I'd been searching for.

In short, highly highly highly recommended in every possible way🤍

I stayed at Peace Retreat in early February with four friends. From the time we were picked up at the airport until we were dropped off, we were completely cared for. We stayed in the newer cabinas which were absolutely lovely- each had AC and private bathrooms. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. We spent a couple of our days drinking smoothies by the pool. The massages and coffee scrubs were heavenly. Morning yoga practice with Kevin was the best. They arranged a shuttle for us two of the days to go explore. The entire staff was great. There’s a feeling here that you just can’t get from a photo or explain with words.

I came to the Peace Retreat not knowing what to expect. This was my first time traveling solo, out of the country and to Costa Rica! Words cannot express my amazing experience at the retreat! You would have to experience this for yourself to get the full picture. The Peace Retreat is so warm and welcoming, I felt a part of a group I had never met, which I have to say I was a little nervous about. I felt at home, at peace and very connected with everyone that I came across! I felt so much benefit from Kevin and Serena in their way of teaching, they are very warm and welcoming, their yoga classes gave so much more than I could have expected! I had a cabana I stayed in for five nights, it was very comfortable and relaxing. The meals were fantastic and everyone that is a part of the Peace Retreat make it a wonderful place! The Peace Retreat is just an amazing experience, transformative and a relaxing get away! Thank You ❤️

My good friend and I recently spent a week at Peace Retreat. We had a wonderful time. While we were there, we had a great time with the other guests, a lovely group of 14 women from New Jersey, was so nice to get to know them and connect with them. The twice daily yoga was spiritual and physical and so varied, we were lucky to experience different yoga teachers, all so good….thank you Kevin, Andara, Addison, Nicky and Corina Benner (one session with a visiting teacher). The staff is so great, Jillian, Maggie, Morgan, Dorein, the chef and entire kitchen staff and all the others, a big thank you. We really enjoyed getting to know some of you. The place, beautiful and relaxed and tranquil with a great vibe, wonderful music always playing in the cafe and pool area. The food, excellent and varied and always beautifully presented. The spa, wonderful, in a natural setting and the very best treatments and overall experience. We enjoyed the sleepy town of Playa Negra with the beach and the characteristic and cool cafes and restaurants and its people from different parts of the world. Excursions were available and very well planned if you wanted to venture out for a few hours. Peace Retreat is special, a mind and body experience. Kevin, you have created something wonderful here.

Five stars for the people, the yoga, the food, and the howler monkeys. Such warm hospitality.

Know before you go:
It’s hot (there’s no AC but the rooms have fans)
It’s social (everyone was so kind and lovely but I’m an introvert and that was challenging)
There’s no town ( and the beach is a schlep)
The howler monkeys will wake you up (I loved that)
If you stay in a cabina, you’ll be walking outside to get to the loo (check out the penthouse apartment in the villa)

We loved the morning yoga classes (a unique mix of kundalini, introspection, and body mapping), the afternoon yoga classes (restorative/therapeutic), the food (healthy, fresh, delicious, and nearly all vegetarian), and the massages :-) We mostly chillaxed or went to the beach but other guests raved about the excursions.

Kevin’s yoga teachings are so dark they cracked me up. You just got out of bed and he’s telling you “if you deny your inner monster it will devour you from within.” Very unique but you can feel the love. Each class focuses on a specific body part and the poses and exercises are quite different from one day to the next.

What an absolutely special place - I cannot put into words how much I enjoyed my stay for a week at Peace Retreat. The entire experience from start to finish was incredible and I am so grateful for my time there. Everything was really great and just what my heart and soul needed - from the diverse yoga, to the deeply moving ceremonies, to the DELICIOUS and nourishing food, to the kind hearted and lovely staff, to the educational and intentional parts of the entire experience, to the clean and cozy accommodations, and to the spa, it's ALL so amazing...I wish my stay was longer and I can't wait to return. Thank you to Kevin for this beautiful space you have created - and thank you to Andara, Addison, and Megan for being such rays of light to make this experience even more memorable and wonderful. Thank you Peace Retreat!

Peace Retreat is the best! As a female solo traveler, I had my guard up initially because I wasn't sure what to expect. But Peace Retreat exceeded my expectations! I felt so safe, taken care of, and welcomed. I made new friends, went zip lining, and had a wonderful stay. If you're considering going here as a solo traveler, I HIGHLY recommend it. I'll definitely be back. Also, the food was INCREDIBLE!
