It's been too long since we have been back here. We loved it before and it's improved. The staff are truly excellent; and the newly refurbished rooms very luxurious. A far cry from when we first came. Dinner and breakfast were of a high quality by London standards. And most of all we had a really wonderful time. Thank you!

Booked here for new year, a package that included special dinner etc Easy to find, and well situated across the road from the beach and between rye and dungeness this is really special place to stay. A relaxed atmosphere, scrupulously clean rooms that are beautifully decorated with all you could need, and more. We had a cosy cabin which was...

It was very quiet when we spent a couple of days here - which meant we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a luxury garden room. As many people have said already, the wealth of small touches (books, free water, good coffee maker, excellent bath/hair products in decent sizes etc) all serve to elevate what is really just a...

We stayed at the Gallivant for a birthday / anniversary weekend. The food is some of the best we have found in Sussex (on a par with the Curlew and St Clements). We stayed 2 nights, and enjoyed dinner both evenings. We also enjoyed our breakfasts, which were a bit different with yoghurt pannacotta and some delicious pastries & cakes....

Stayed for one night in Baby Hampton room. Very stylish, comfy bed , lovely bed linen and towels which made up for bathroom size which I would describe as very compact . The staff without exception were all very competent and polite which helped make this a very enjoyable experience . Our only disappointment was with breakfast, given the relatively...

I had such a lovely stay here - the snug cabin is beautifully decorated and there are so many thoughtful touches in the bedrooms. The staff were great and went out of their way to help us wherever they could. I would highly recommend staying here & particularly in the snug cabins.

We stayed here to celebrate our birthdays & our anniversary & we couldn't have loved it more! Our room was gorgeous & we'd highly recommend staying in the Luxury Garden Rooms - they're super cosy, with a big comfy bed, a lovely rolltop bath & double doors that lead out onto a cute decking area. The interiors of the rooms...

Had a spontaneous night away for our wedding anniversary and staff were great with my last minute requests :) Our dogs loved staying too and the beach was simply beautiful! Dinner was lovely, we choose off the bar menu and breakfast was perfect and we loved the local apple and orange juice!

We stayed for a couple of nights (last August, sorry for the delay!) and were impressed by the quality of the food and the way in which, completely unprompted, the manager emailed me afterwards to ask for feedback. That’s never happened before! After I responded he replied saying both issues had been addressed. Breakfast was excellent as was dinner. No...

The moment we walked in the door we were made to fell so welcome at this beautiful gem tucked close to the lovely sandy beach. The garden room was outstanding ,large and delightful with its free standing bath that could easily be sectioned off if necessary. The added bonus of this hotel is it's standard of food served in the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to our coastal restaurant with rooms, across the road from the dunes of Camber Sands and beautiful sandy beach beyond. Inspired by the coastal motels you might find in California, we're a calm and relaxing hideaway from the stresses and strains of modern life. We have 20 amazing bedrooms all decorated with an eye to the Hamptons and serve great food using almost exclusively locally sourced fresh ingredients. In 2016 we were included in The Times 'Coolest Beach Hotels - No. 4', The Mirror's 'Top 10 Seaside Hotels in the UK' and Squaremeal's 'UK's Best 100 Restaurants'. The private coastal garden incorporates mini secluded decks behind all the Garden and Luxury Garden rooms and is also home to The Beach Hut, where guests can enjoy relaxing massages and lovely facials after a day on the beach using ethical and natural health and beauty products that are exclusively blended in the UK. ... more   less
