We stayed at Kalahari Rest on the way to the Okavanga and again on our return. The rooms are pleasant - they didn’t have showers - but did have a bath. The hotter was plentiful even thought they use the donkey system. We were somewhat disappointed with the food in the restaurant - their steaks were very tough! The wifi...

Interesting little overnight on the way to Maun. Rooms were tiny (Deluxe one only had a bath so requested a standard room for a shower) however were comfortable and clean. Staff all helpful and had a nice meal and breakfast. Felt like we were the only ones there. We were very lucky. Would stay again, was just enough for an...

Good aircon! Reaturant has good, plain food and a good breakfast! Great sleep, quiet rooms with braai area. Very safe. The staff are friendly and efficient, the beer is cold and the pool is clean! This is THE stop over when driving through Botswana. Some rooms have a bath, others a shower. We have stayed here many times, and will...

Genuine oasis after a very long drive in an area with very few alternatives. We were delighted to find a chalet available and from the start were welcomed warmly and enthusiastically! From the lady at reception, to Stephen who was on hand immediately to assist in any way, to the chef and restaurant staff...all played a part in making us...

Disappointing. My boyfriend and I stayed here in April and were truly impressed by Kalahari Rest. This time around, 8 months later and it seems things have fallen to the wayside. 1) Last time upon arrival, the proof of payment was printed out and ready for us. This time around, the man working at reception asked if I had paid,...

We stayed for one night enroute to a wedding in the Caprivi and one night on the way back. We chose to stay in a chalet rather than to camp which was a pricey option, but I also have heard from other people that Botswana's accommodation is notoriously expensive. The chalets were basic but had enough to satisfy. The service...

Tis place is nice just because you really camp in the bush. You must be prepared to share the ablution , hot water were supplied through a "donkey" which make it more interesting. The dinner and breakfast in the restaurant was good.

We used this as a stop over whilst crossing the Kalahari on a trip between Windhoek and Pretoria. Each campsite has its own ablution. The sites are reasonably spread out and ours had a beautiful large thorn tree. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a wonderful last stop before moving back into civilisation. The last campfire was very...

Despite booking two chalets in January through Booking.com and reconfirming directly with the resort two weeks before arrival, when we arrived at Kalahari Rest, we were informed by Eva in reception that our chalets had been allocated to other guests and no accommodation was available. Our first night in Botswana!! After remonstrating with the owner, we were allocated two "family"...
