Spectacular setting and view of lake and vulcano, great architecture, beautiful pool with a view, nice staff, especially liked the combination of eco lodge hotel, eco farm and development foundation. Totoco is not only a great place to stay, but also makes a difference for the local community. We stayed with the family (2 kids age 3 and 7) and...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in June and loved this place. In fact it was our favorite hotel of all the places we stayed in Nicaragua. The cabanas are really clean and tastefully decorated. The sunsets from the porch of our cabana were beautiful! And Jonathon was fabulous. I forgot my North Face pants at the...

I recommend renting a 4 x 4 to be able to drive around Ometepe, and you definitely need one to get to Totoco Eco-lodge.

This lodge is in an absolutely beautiful location where you can feel alone with nature and with whomever you are traveling. It's a great location for couples, families and those looking to be in a secluded spot to write, create, or just daydream. The cabanas are nestled in the jungle, making you feel alone with nature, yet you are actually...

Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm relieved to see your stay with us wasn't overly tarnished by some of the mistakes we made while you were with us. The fact is that working with volunteers to run a quality lodge is far from ideal and we do try to avoid it. Unfortunately the lack of English speaking applicants...

Totoco is a magical place. Yes, the cabins are rustic, and yes, you compost... but it is beautiful, magical, and the view of the volcano cannot be beat! You are surrounded by nature and the howler monkeys call you to sleep. My husband and I ended up spending most of our time on Ometepe at Totoco, reading on hammocks, getting...

Totoco Lodge is going everything right. Compost toilets, solar energy, local food, hires local people, and % of profits support local community projects. In addition, Jonathan (one of the owners) makes sure to talk with each visitor to make sure their stay is as good as possible. Totoco Lodge is not about quantity, it's about quality. They don't have mobs...

We spent 2 nights on our honeymoon here. What a fantastic place! Food was AMAZING! The very reasonably priced meal package gets you a variety of wonderful breakfast fare in the morning and a full 3 course meal/sides and dessert in the evening. I had, quite possibly, the best chicken dish I ever ate in my life while I was...

Had a great time at Totoco. Everyone was super friendly and helpful and the views were incredible! The compost toliet was a little hard to get used to but that was the only blip on an otherwise wonderful stay. The room was comfortable, the water was hot and again, the view was breath-taking. The food was also really, really good...

Our experience at Tocoto EcoLodge was everything the rave reviews we had read prior to our trip had said--and more! The view of the volcano was stunning and the surrounding flora and fauna are absolutely beautiful. The meals included in the half board option were delicious and interesting. I'm so impressed with the owners, Jonathan and Martin who had the...

Totoco Ecolodge was by far the highlight of our trip to Omotepe. The hour long ride there from the Omotepe ferry, arranged by our hosts at Totoco, was so worth it. I went there with a group of eight friends and my son, and we were treated wonderfully from the moment we were picked up to the moment we were...
