This was our 3rd time at Fiddler Lake. We stayed April 21-24. I really do love it there. We stayed with a large group and the house was beautiful and clean. The grounds are lovely and the lodge is a nice walk. We plan on coming back in the fall.
We spent Christmas there and water was cut: imagine trying to get ready for Christmas and you can’t shower, can’t cook and can’t wash your hands..... when water was reestablished, dishwasher wasn’t working..... then we reserved horse slay rides and they told me we didn’t have a reservation for that activity and when I pulled out my receipt to prove I had made a reservation for the family and paid for it, I was met with a “sorry too bad” we’ll pay you back, we gave your spots to someone else and there’s nothing we can do about it. So had I not had my receipt, I wouldn’t even have been reimbursed..... worst client services ever, so so rude, not even apologetic for all the issues, I have never seen this in my life. Oh, and the sauna wasn’t working either........... very expensive with outdated amenities and very bad client services. We are used to luxury holidays so needless to say that this has been a nightmare. We thought we were getting a cabin with a dishwasher, a sauna, water and good client services. Nope, 4 300 $ later for 4 nights (holiday rate), I somehow get screamed at by the receptionist for being upset. Unbelievable.…
We'd stayed at this resort back in 2016, and we absolutely loved it. Went back last weekend for a family weekend getaway, was disappointed. The jets in the hot tube were only working in half the hot tub, and the jets were popping out. The dry sauna was tilted, meaning it was very uncomfortable to sit on one side. There was a small leak inside, and it just didn't get hot enough to make someone sweat. The master bed dipped in the middle and made a thunk noise every time we rolled over. The lighter fluid in the lighter was basically empty. Not the biggest deal, but add that on to the other issues....the fan in the fireplace didn't work. We lit a fire upstairs, thinking it was okay, but then went downstairs and there was a thin layer of smoke. We opened the french doors right away it cleared very quickly. We had called the front office prior to lighting the fire to see if there was a floo we needed to open, and they told us everything was ready for a fire. It's a real shame that the quality has gone downhill. Perhaps COVID has played it's part, but we don't think we'll be going back.…
I enjoyed the stay and the grounds were very clean and proper and the chalets were very well equipped and spacious. I will be going again in the very near future. I will tell others about the place and encourage them to go.
We stayed at cottage 29. My family loved everything about our mini vacation. Gorgeous cottage (with heated floors for extra comfort), jacuzzi, above ground pool, sauna and a huge patio were just perfect. Friendly staff, lots of activities (tennis, ping pong, playground and much much more) ... I just got off the phone to book our next stay :-)
One of the best things about this place is that all the chalets have hot tubs. But if they don't work properly can be very disappointing. My wife and I rented a Bear chalet for 3 weekday nights in mid January. We have been here maybe 6 or more times before but always with 3 other couples and one of them always looked after the rental. Our 2 adult daughters had planned to join us this time but cancelled on us because of the pandemic lockdown. We went anyhow and looked forward to the “road trip”. We went to Fiddler primarily for the hot tub and the snowshoeing. Snowshoeing we can do almost anywhere else but not every place has hot tubs. The hot tub in Chalet #22 was pretty pitiful. It did not work properly at all. We called the first night to complain and late in the next day someone from the company looking after the hot tubs came to inspect. He said the pump was probably old but it still worked. Yes it “worked” but not properly at all. We’ve been in lots of hot tubs and believe me we know when one is working properly or not. We were not impressed and quite disappointed - the hot tub was one of the main reasons we came here. Another disappointment - the bedroom/bathroom layout. We had booked by phone and had specified that we wanted a master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. To us, “ensuite” means a bathroom for that bedroom only. In this case the “ensuite” bathroom was shared with the bedroom next door. This is not an ensuite. As it turned out, since we were alone it was okay but had our daughters been there it would have been an annoyance. Okay, what did we like? Well just about everything else. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful. Checking in and out was a breeze. What really impressed us was the number of snowshoe trails throughout the property and well maintained - right in the woods. We went snowshoeing both days we were there - loved it!…
Fantastic 4-days spent at Fiddler Lake. Lots of outdoor fun even with COVID restrictions in place. Staff was very accommodating and provided great service. Opportunity: Not sure if all units are similar but there is a serious need to upgrade the showers. They are not very big and low water pressure did not help. It would be ideal to have the ensuite bathroom upgraded at the very least so there is one half decent option.
Due to the global situation and under the recommendations of local health authorities, we cancelled our Feb 2021 3 day stay 8 weeks in advance. We booked through Resortia website. They tried to get the cancellation fee lowered but was unsuccessful. The cancellation cost us over $400 . Not impressed with this resort and their customer service. Will not choice this place again. Merry Christmas hope my $400 go to the staff for Christmas but I doubt it.
This was my third visit to Fiddler Lake Resort. It has come to be a highly anticipated weekend away in early October. The staff are wonderful and enough can't be said for how nice these Chalets are. This trip was slightly different due to Covid and changes which had to be adhered to. Once in our private Chalet, we were in our bubble and had a wonderful time. Apologies to other guests as our laughter at times was probably very loud but it was so needed. Special shout out to Katherine at the front desk. She was so kind and helpful in responding to our concerns and questions and ensuring that we could come to the resort due to the restrictions that were being enforced by the province. We were within the guidelines and thankfully we got to enjoy a wonderful weekend with beautiful scenery. Looking forward to next year and will extend our stay from Thursday to Sunday as we were all so sad to leave after just a Friday-Sunday stay.…
We spent a week in a Rabbit Chalet. The chalet itself was amazing - three bedrooms, each with its own full bath plus an additional main space powder room. Tons of living space which was great for 5 adults and 1 child. Fully equipped kitchen and a screened in hot tub plus outdoor sauna. The website pics did not lie! The property was fantastic - outdoor pool and lots of activities at the main lodge or down on the lake. It is quite a trek down to the lake and back up but provides a great opportunity to get some exercise in on vacation! If I had to give any feedback it would be that the pool could have been cleaned a bit better but overall Fiddler Lake Resort has done a great job of providing an amazing vacation experience during these tough Covid times. Lots of procedures in place to keep everyone safe but not so many that you aren’t able to enjoy yourself.…
