Excellent service! The attention from the staff at the reception was excellent and even though we arrived at 9:00 at night to check in, they received us with the best attention, they were extremely friendly and very professional. We booked only 1 night due to work we had to do in the area and we chose the best place to stay with very good parking within the facilities and 24/7 security. The room we stayed in had a very comfortable queen bed, air conditioning and hot water for bathing, which is not very common in inns. Everything was extremely clean although a little outdated but it was nice to be staying here because of the cleanliness and amenities. The resort had a swimming pool and access to the beautiful Combate Beach but due to time and work limitations we were not able to enjoy them. In the main building near the front desk they have a food area/restaurant where they had breakfast available from 7:30am and everything on the menu was super delicious. I would definitely stay again for a few more days but on weekends to enjoy the food places that are nearby but are closed on weekdays (we stayed from Wednesday to Thursday and there were no food places open at night).
Overall 20/10!!! Very good!!!

Combate Beach Resort was a great place to stay in Cabo Rojo. This was my first time visiting Puerto Rico and I will definitely return in large part to the great experience I had at this resort.
The staff was exceptional. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I had to do a late check in my first night and I was alone. I’ve travelled solo before and was sure to be vigilant but the security guard, Marcos, was extremely helpful and accommodating. I was so pleased with my experience, I extended my stay and definitely plan on returning.
All of the guests I met were friendly and the cafe was reasonably priced. The waiter in the cafe, Tommie, also recommended some great excursions to some friends who were also staying in the area and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
Beach access is a breeze and the amenities (including daily cleaning) are unmatched for the area.
I never felt unsafe and it is also within walking distance of several restaurants and an ATM.
I definitely recommend this resort for solo travelers and families!

We stayed for one night on a quick road trip around the west side of PR. It’s a nice hotel with a good pool very close (you can easily walk) to the long Combate beach. Unfortunately, it had rained for a solid week before we got there and the ocean water and seaweed were very stirred up, not the most pleasant condition, and not the hotel’s fault. The pool was a real blessing because it was hot and sunny.
Our room was large and had a balcony, tho it only had a view of the rv park across the street. (The best view i think is the pool.) It was very clean! Comfy king bed. A nice touch were robes in the closet. The air conditioning worked great as did the TV (it was Superbowl Sunday).
The hotel only serves breakfast but has a full bar in the lobby. It’s clear they’ve tried to think of everything for guests’ convenience; they’ll even get you a pizza if you don’t feel like going out if you order by 9 pm. A gift shop has all kinds of things you need for the beach or forgot at home. Beach chairs, kayaks, etc. are available for rent. The breakfast is $14 for all you can eat, and they do an adequate job (very similar to a Holiday Inn Express breakfast) but we felt it was a little overpriced. We would have liked a smaller coffee-and-guava pastry option!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Tommy was especially knowledgeable about things to see in the area (plenty, including the lighthouse and wildlife refuges) and places to eat dinner. It turns out that this Combate area is very popular with PR residents and winter is actually low season. So some restaurants are closed some days of the week or close early. It did feel quiet at the restaurants close by (there are definitely restaurants to walk to, and Tommy has opinions).

If I could give it a zero I would! The restaurant takes more than 1.5hrs in bringing a basic breakfast when it’s even empty. Depending on the room you pick you might have hot water or not! Owner and bartender are RUDE and do not care about customer service. If they work outside this island they would not be hired anywhere. Pics are very deceiving. Furniture is not new or modern. You need to cross a swamp that smells like drainage before getting to the beach. No room up keeping. Paddle boards to rent are a naked foam…. Kayaks have no seats or gear. Sheets and beds are so thin so you are sleeping in a hardboard. There are so many other places I could have spent my money with people that actually appreciate the business. Sad to see how Puerto Rico keeps falling apart but if this is the customer service I’m going to get I’m definitely going to a different location next time!

Dear Carolyn, We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. We take all customers’ reviews very seriously and genuinely consider every recommendation. While most of your observations are inaccurate, please be assured we have evaluated all your claims and made adjustments where granted. Unfortunately, we had to limit servicing and selling alcoholic beverages to you, considering your behavior. Our team is committed to continuous improvement and providing high-quality facilities and superior service to all our guests and visitors. This commitment has led Combate Beach Resort to become the number one hotel in its category for the past 11 years in Puerto Rico; and is currently listed in TripAdvisor amongst the top 25 hotels on the Island, based on our customers’ opinions. Quite important for our team is that most of your family group expressed having experienced a superior stay at our venue and enjoyed our food, beverages, and personalized service during their breakfasts, dinners, and celebration events. As a result, some of them extended their stay at our hotel, the reason why I'm very surprised by your review. Sincerely, Xavier A. RamĂrez General Manager

I had a great experience at Combate Beach Resort. The location is fantastic, just a two minute walk to one of the best beaches in Puerto Rico and a short five minute walk will take you to the restaurants in town.
I’ve stayed a couple of times this month and both rooms were extremely clean. I feel that the price paid was a good value for what I received.
The maid cleaned my room each day, and made my bed which was an added bonus that I did not expect.
There’s a clean and beautiful swimming pool, and each time I used it I was the only one.
Pedro, the manager went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy and comfortable and talked to me at length about fishing and spots that he knew that I might be interested in. He really helped me have a better experience in the area. I feel he and his coworker Jaime went above and beyond for me. They were both extremely kind and very very helpful.
I will definitely return to Beach Resort. It is an excellent place to enjoy the beach and good food in town. It is a great vacation stay for both singles and for families. The resort was quiet, well lit, friendly and clean.

I travel to the area quite often and normally stay with family. This time around I came down with several friends to show them this beautiful part of the island, and staying with family was not an option. I visited the hotel on a prior trip and decided to stay there for this trip since I was looking for a place in Combate with amenities...like a pool and lounging area.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. They give you more of a B&B vibe than a hotel. Room was clean and AC kept room cold (though if you were on the bed below the unit, you need to adjust the airflow else you wake up with a stiff neck). The grounds were well maintained and the pool was nice. We were there in Jan. 2020, after some earthquakes hit the southern part of the island, so there were very few guests, and we had the pool and gazebo area pretty much to ourselves. The only negative is if you are a breakfast person, you will be disappointed with the included continental breakfast. For me it was fine, but you can go a la carte which we found to be reasonably priced. Combate beach behind the hotel is very nice, but definitely drive out to La Playuela, near the Lighthouse. One of the best beaches in the area, and maybe on the island. There is also a trail by the hotel that goes around the Salinas. Its 5 miles one way, if you like to run. You just have to be mindful of the cyclists (I think the hotel also has bikes).
If you are a fan of the area, and prefer a hotel (vs. the local room rentals, with no amenities), you can't go wrong staying here.

Dear guest, Thank you for choosing Combate Beach Resort for your vacation in the west coast and your wonderful review. Yes, we pride ourselves with providing the best service our guests deserve and with keeping the facilities clean and comfortable so our guests enjoy the beauty our side of the island has to offer. I wanted to also update you that due to COVID-19 precautions, we have eliminated the Continental Breakfast and improved our a-la-carte menu options with more variety and great flavor. We hope you visit us again soon. Sincerely, Xavier A. Ramirez, GM

This hotel is clean, comfortable, and in a good location. For the price, however, I expected more. I felt “nickel and dime” by having to pay a daily fee for beach chairs, having to give up my ID to “rent” beach towels, etc. The breakfast buffet is also quite pricey and rather underwhelming, with paper plates, plastic utensils, etc. on a positive note, the staff are very friendly and the resort feels safe and secure.

The facilities and service provided are great. Their location is the best as you can walk directly into the beautiful Combate Beach without dealing with the terrible traffic and parking issues of the area during weekends. I usually stay there when I need to spend the night on the West of the Island.

We stayed at room no. 4. It’s a spacious room with three beds, fridge, little table and chairs, tv, aircondition, and hairdryer. Everything was in working order and the room kept clean during our stay. The hotel has a decent sized pool (where we found the little, green fellow shown on the picture) and it’s only a short walk away from Combate Beach. During our three nights at the hotel there wasn't any noise or any other nuisance. The hotel has a very good location to explore Cabo Rojo. It’s only a short drive away from marvellous Playa Sucia and Cabo Rojo Lighthouse. The path gets a bit rough and bumpy towards the end but it’s definitely worth it! We also drove up to Mayaguez and Rincon but be aware of rush-hour traffic. There are several restaurants within walking distance. The closest supermarket is a short drive up the road. For the rate we paid we got good value. Staff at the hotel have been very friendly and helpful, including the security guard.
