The hotel is located in a quiet residential area and has a large garden. The hotel itslelf is two country houses joined together with a more modern centre part. We had one room in the centre bit and one in an old part. The centre room was more spacious but also nosier than the room in the old part. Otherwise both reasonably equipped with revamped shower rooms. The hotel was applying covid measures well. The restaurant staff were friendly and very efficient. Although quite busy the two staff coped competently and no one was left waiting unduly. The evening menu is reasonable and the food tasty but not exceptional but it is very reasonbly priced. Breakfast was equally well priced, good variety and good quantity. I did notice a couple of planes going over but the airport is of course very quiet. Aircraft noise may be more of a nuisance when travel is back to normal but can't be sure.

Over the last year we have stayed at the lynnhurst a few times and always enjoyed our stay. We were delighted to find the public areas had been given a revamp, the fireplace has been removed from the restaurant making the room light and airy. We noticed a difference in the quality of the food right away. It is delicious. They have new chefs and they have brought new vibe to the food whilst still retaining the old favourites. My only gripe is the coffee. At certain times of the day it is bulk brewed. We prefer it freshly brewed in a cafetiere.

Rooms are shocking, booked a family room which wasn’t big enough for 2 adults let alone 4 of us. Had to call down to reception at 11 at night to have the children’s bed made up as it wasn’t done prior.. I thought I just had to pull the bed out ready made but nope. There was also only 3 beds in the room so not enough for all 4 of us. They said they would fit another bed in for us but there would’ve been absolutely nowhere to put it. Beds uncomfortable! Food was fine. The grounds are lovely.

Just a wee note to say the girl who served us throughout our meal was an absolute star. Her name was Lauren, I think she said Pinto was her surname when I asked her. Nothing was a bother for her, great sense of humour and very welcoming.
