My 19 year old grandson and I stayed here for 2 nights in July, 2021. This is the sweetest little hotel! The proprietors have done an amazing job decorating and making their establishment cozy, welcoming and beautiful. The building dates from 1750 and was the village priest’s home. The village church and cemetery are across the street. The gardens are gorgeous! There is a lot of WWII memorabilia and decor in the rooms and common areas. Celine speaks enough English to give directions and restaurant and sightseeing recommendations. Her breakfasts were amazing! French toast, waffles, eggs, fresh fruit, breads, great coffee, fresh yogurt, etc! This location is very close to Omaha beach and the American cemetery. We had a car, which is almost essential to see the sights in this area, and we’re able to visit the nearby medieval town of Bayeux (highly recommended) and drive to Point du Hoc (another D Day invasion sight). We also learned that the little village of Formigny was the site of the last battle of the 100 Year War. There is a monument to this near the battle site. Our stay at La Ferme aux Chats and our 2 days in the area were definitely one of the highlights of our 2 weeks in France!…
Smilling and friendly staff, beautiful garden, good quality service. I highly recommend here for stay with family or friends. The room was very clean and beds was comfortable. It has a good access to beach and other sightseeing points in Omaha beach area.
What an incredible BnB and host. Celine and her cats and dogs were extremely welcoming. The garden was amazing and sleeping accommodations were perfect. To our surprise, we woke up to the best French breakfast including homemade jams, French toast, and garden picked fruit. I highly recommend staying here to visit Omaha Beach and surrounding sites. We will be back. She even sent us on our way with fresh picked cherries from her garden.
My father had stayed here with the previous owners, multiple times, which is how we came about staying here again. I’m so glad we did. It wasn’t too far from the places we intended to visit, and regardless, there is wonderful, centuries long history to explore in the whole Normandy area. Celine and Jerome were wonderful hosts. Chopping wood for the wood burning fire, to heat the family room, getting up early to make us delicious, elaborate, breakfasts every day we were there, sending us back to Paris stocked with fruits and sandwiches. Truly top notch, and we enjoyed visiting with them just as much. A wonderful visit and, as I stated in the title, I hope to go back to stay again some time.
Stayed here before with previous owners, returned to the area because there is so much to see and new owners didn't disappoint. Super location to explore the region. Very easy to find the B&B which is a short drive from Omaha Beach and about 1 hour from Cherbourg ferry terminal. Celine is clearly working hard to provide a top class welcome. Will be back.
