Just returned from working in Villeneuve for 2 weeks.
We ate at Du Nord every evening apart from Mondays when closed. The food was consistently great and was the highlight of our trip.
Great value and great quality very friendly service I look forward to returning :-)

Another discovery in Villeneuve, or rather on the road out of the town towards Chillon castle. We went twice, on Sunday and Tuesday. The 'special' for Sunday evening is a Bourgignonne fondue of horsemeat for SFR 27, which I had and enjoyed immensely. Why the Brits and, I suspect the Americans are so anti- the thought of Dobbin and chips I can only attribute to sentimentality, as it is delicious. The meat is from Canada in this restaurant - perhaps retired from service with the Mounties? All other meat is Swiss. My wife had a ham omelette for SFR 18. I believe we were the only customers not resident in the town. The atmosphere was brilliant, the service was up to the usual Swiss standard. Being Italian, the Provenzano family who own the place serve up the usual array of pasta and pizza dishes. On our return on Tuesday lunchtime, my wife had home-made lasagne while I had a cheese and egg 'croûte'.The two cost SFR 45 together. Swiss eating-out IS dear, no gainsaying that, but it is... More
