My partner and i stayed last night and whilst the location was excellent (right near hot salt water pools, restaurants and the mount) and the staff were super friendly/helpful the actual roon was average. We had ZERO privacy and had to close the blinds both in bedroom and living room; this made the room dark and the lighting was poor....

I have stayed at the Calais twice in the last month visiting the Mt for sports events. The location couldn't be better, not having to find a park each day of the sports competition and being able to pop back for forgotten things was a real bonus. The decor might be a little dated but the rooms are great value...

I stayed 2 nights in Apartment 107. The parking was the first problem we had. A modern sedan would not fit in the park in front of the unit and the underground carparking was almost as tight. If you love green, with some yellow and blue, then this is the place for you. We found it a bit much and...

I have stayed here many times over the years, and at other places at the Mount, but Calais is our favourite. It has a great location, and is good value. The rooms are big. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with a conservatory, which meant 2 sofa beds so you could have slept 8 people in it. Only 1 bathroom...

Comfortable stay. Service was satisfactory. Basic room with all that was needed. Highlight was the close proximity to the Mount summit, beach and cafes, with only a short walk to the restaurants and bars.

This hotel is roomy and at a great location for Mount Maunganui Beach and Walking Path. It is also only a few blocks from the shops and restaurants in downtown Mount Maunganui. Our unit had a balcony which was nice. The rooms and furnishings are starting to show wear. At times, the unit was noisy due to the Hot Pools...

The 2 bed apt was good value for money as we had 5 adults, (3 adult kids). Great location, great views, parking provided. Short walks to all the good stuff this area has to offer. Adequate kitchenette. Disappointed with Internet access, with only a hotspot at reception, bit poor really.

Stayed at the Calais for 2 nights of Jan2015. First impression wasn't the best especially the colour combination of yellow walls, blue and green décor even crockery. However that feeling settled down a bit and the feeling of a beach resort took over. I guess that is the intention of the owner with those colours. Room was clean, shower water...

Only stayed one night but very impressed by location. So handy to restaurants and easy walking distance to the Main Street and harbour. Great views of mount which is just opposite. Walks around the base and to the summit are a must. Lots to see. Unusual room layout. Unit itself was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Parking underneath was a...

The positives: great location, very reasonable price. The negatives: bedroom is on the walk way, and the only window looks on the thoroughfare, so it is blinds down and windows closed 24/7; the internal bathroom requires yoga exercises to use the facilities, such is the layout, and turn on the light and a noisy fan starts and wakes up your...
