The Two Sawyers is how a British Pub should be. In the time we've known this pub there has been many local and political changes. We're not sure but at the very latest we were last patrons in 2006. We use to visit this pub as our local 2002 to 2006 prior to major changes locally and nationally. Today it...

A warm welcome on arrival followed by excellent service and food. We will be returning. Once our order was taken the food arrived really promptly, was piping hot and delicious. Good choice of accompanying wines and beers. Very friendly staff who looked after us without any fuss. Great evening.

I should explain the title - it was probably just birds roosting under the eaves at night, but they do scrabble about a bit sometimes which is quite annoying. I think one or two other guests thought so too judging by the odd thump on the wall.... Arrived at the village on a dark Saturday afternoon at 16.30 to find...

We don't get to The Two Sawyers as often as we would like to. Yesterday a group of us really enjoyed our Sunday lunch here. We shared whitebait starters excellent, steak and kidney puddings are the best, full of quality meat. Others had roast beef and lamb, vegetables always beautifully cooked and lashings of gravy. Mark always employs really sociable...

We just booked this accommodation online without knowing anything about the place. It turned out to be a really great 16th century pub with lots of character where we had a spacious and comfortable room. The staff were welcoming and the manager/business owner, Mark was hands-on and friendly. We stayed two nights, ate in both nights and enjoyed a cooked...

Absolutely fantastic stay. After a nightmare 5 hour trip down, it was an absolute pleasure to both stay and eat at The Two Sawyers. Nothing was too much trouble for Mark and his team. The rooms were immaculate and spacious with water included in the fridge and proper tea bags! and not just enough for one small cup there was...

A lovely warm welcome on our arrival last night, very busy and hard working staff were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, we didn't have to wait long for our food which i must say was fantastic especially the steak & kidney pudding, just such a shame that i didn't have the room for a chocolate brownie...

Full attention is given to the guests from a very hard working team from the moment you arrive. Really nice clean, spacious well kept rooms. We will certainly stay here again when we are in the area, much better than a larger hotel if you like to be treated as a guest and not a number.
