Stay lived up to high expectations. Enchanting and above all suggestive location with breathtaking 360 degree views.
Very pleasant is the fact that the SPA is reserved for 45 minutes for each room.
I give 4 stars because the bed mattress was made up of two mattresses placed side by side and you could feel the joint. In a facility of this level it is not acceptable. Then the breakfast could also be improved. Orange juice for example with an oxidized flavor (perhaps freshly squeezed but probably from the day before). Eggs for a fee...
Special mention for the restaurant: we had a really good truffle-based dinner and compliments to the staff, in particular the sommelier, friendly, competent and helpful.

It is a large Castello with extraordinary views, impressive, comfortable period rooms and suites. The reception staff were very helpful and the lady who manages the breakfast room was so kind and helpful.

The only reason we did not rate 5 stars was because of the unacceptably rude attitude of the maître d when, as the first guests to arrive, we politely asked to change tables. He actually rolled his eyes and flatly refused any of the 5 tables we wanted to switch to saying they were all reserved. At the end of our dinner, which was perfectly delicious, only 3 of those tables were occupied - when I mentioned this he replied that they had received cancellations or no-shows from outside guests…

The building is quite extraordinary with long passageways and narrow stairs to the rooms (there is a lift) and curiously out of keeping leather armchairs and cheap perfume diffusers. The decoration is a little off but the hotel is a must see and we recommend staying here for a unique experience.

No detail is overlooked at this property and was one of the finest hotels I have ever stayed in. For weeks before arrival, I corresponded with their staff to arrange transfers and a tour. Christian was extremely prompt and helped me to make a variety of arrangements. He connected me with a tour guide for the day who was absolutely wonderful. Every member of the staff was welcoming and helpful. The food in the restaurant was among some of the best I had in Piedmont. I can't recommend this property enough! Thank you for such a wonderful stay and all of your assistance.

A magical place: ancient castle overlooking the village of Guarene, perfectly preserved and adapted into a magnificent hotel de charme. Antique furnishings, lounges, corridors such as secret passages, tapestries and fireplaces; but also fine marble in the bathrooms, Ginori porcelain at the table, a wonderful swimming pool created in a place with the appearance of an ancient cave. Silence, discretion, atmospheres as if suspended in time: only the ghost of the Count is missing to serve the night's herbal tea, while the many fireplaces light up with wood flames. Stupendous !

The castle has a commanding view across the rolling hills and has beautiful views. The property is very well looked after by a cohesive team but the stand out team members are Giuseppe the manager of the property. He gave us a full tour of the castle (over an hour!) once we arrived. We thought that after a flight and a drive from Milan airport this might be too much but honestly the tour was so informative and interesting and we had so many questions. The castle is full of history and a tour is necessary to help get your bearings.

Dinner was nice - great food and wine service from a friendly team but the setting terrace of the restaurant) had limited views of the garden.

Breakfast was a small but quality affair. The lady in charge was very helpful, professional yet friendly and keen on providing an efficient service. She recalled coffee preferences and if anything was depleted she would call the kitchen to make more. Good local sparking wine to enjoy as well on the terrace with your continental breakfast!

Reception was helpful in booking local restaurants. We appreciated this and ate out on most days. Osteria imperfeccta ( go early and get an outside table for amazing views) and Restaurant Aie (cozy outdoor seating with a surprise menu paired with bottles of magnums which keep switching between the tables). Unique experiences.

The bar was empty on most evenings but it’s an enclosed room next to the restaurant. We had good chats with other couples on the occasions when we were in.

The newly constructed health club was great and did not feel busy. Nice to use the relaxation/spa facilities for a set time per couple.

Finally room was very spacious and comfortable. We were on the third floor. The castle only has 12 or so rooms so it never feels busy.

It’s a great place and looking forward to returning soon!

Excellence to the nth degree. The structure is a real castle, excellently and finely maintained, with the possibility of a private visit with the Director of the structure (absolutely recommended). Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Maximum relaxation and rest from the wonderful SPA (newly built and equipped with every comfort, from the salt room, to the swimming pool with massage and hydromassage jets, hammam, ice room) to the massage which was one of the best ever received ( the masseuse present on Saturday 17 February in the afternoon was very good). Equally excellent restaurant with excellent friendly and helpful staff and ultra-quality food offering (the crispy octopus was divine). The maitre is very nice. Definitely recommended for a stay of total relaxation, re-centering yourself and recharging your energy.

It’s actually a palace, not a castle. We got a deluxe room and it was big and well decorated with 2 big bathrooms, one with a tub. Although it was very comfortable we noticed something weird about the toilet amenities: they are each one of a different brand and there’s no pattern. They would let a Ferragamo shampoo, a Hermès soap bar and moisturizer and a generic hand soap of low quality. Very odd. Water, coffee and tea should be offered in the room as well. Breakfast is good and the lady in charge very attentive and worked hard to provide everything we asked for but I think sometimes she could use a little help from someone in the kitchen as she was by herself and had to serve, wait on tables, clean them and reset them to other guests who kept coming and there was no one to help, which sometimes led guests waiting. The spa and swimming pool are very interesting, located on the underground of the palace and still with a beautiful view of the village below. The other common areas could be improved. The lobby is dark and not welcoming. There’s even a pool table that doesn’t make any sense in being there lol. I also give the suggestion that the main access gate have the intercom placed in a way to avoid the driver getting out of the car, in the cold and rain, to ask the receptionist to open it. Our stay was good but we left with the feeling that it was not a 5-star Relais & Chateaux property.

The Castello Di Guarene is probably the most beautiful 'hotel' in Piedmont. As is typical for castles of that time, it is beautifully situated on a hill. The view is accordingly fantastic. Our suite (Gabriella da Carisio) was huge. Almost like an apartment. It couldn't be more romantic, especially because of the four-poster bed. Anyone who loves romantic old castles and palaces will feel at home here. In my opinion, it is particularly great that our dog is welcome not only in the room, but in the entire Castello. He was even allowed in the gourmet restaurant, which is a huge advantage, especially with large dogs, as the tables are far apart. The food in the restaurant is fantastic. Typically Piedmont.
One of the most beautiful hotels ever. We will come again!!

My husband and I stayed here in mid-May. Beautifully restored in an awesome location. Our suite was large with a comfortable king bed, but other furniture ( chairs in particular) need to be updated! Very uncomfortable. Air conditioning in the public rooms was not working and although they said room ac was working, it never got cool enough which made for uncomfortable nights. . Not enough staff. Those there tried to be accommodating, but were seriously overworked. Breakfast was late being set up on our second morning and fruit was canned - unacceptable. At the time of our stay, this beautiful property was not running up to Relais standards. A real shame considering what a stay here could be!
