Ten minutes on bus 80 from El Faro and three mins walk gets you to what was for me Shangri-La the peace, large gardens, so much bird life, fresh air and the beach seven miles of it is only seven minutes away. Large kitchen, big dorm rooms and single rooms available. Table tennis, darts, hoops and lots of books and large...

I was a bit reluctant to go on my own to El Salvador, but I m glad I did go and that I ended up in this hostel in La Libertad. The English owner Darren and his local wife were very very helpful. I had a wonderful time. When I arrived I got a welcome drink from the Swedish bartender/surfinstructor...

I arrived at this hostel after a very long journey from Guatemala and was instantly made to feel very welcome by the English owner Darren and his El Salvadorian wife, Seca- that free welcome-beer went down very well after a long, sweaty chicken bus journey! My first impression was very good- the room was clean and tidy and the grounds...

El Roble felt like our home away from home. We were very sad to leave after our 4 days and wished we could have extended it for longer. Darren, the owner, is a great guy who makes you feel very welcome and his home cooking is reason alone to stay for as long as possible, not to mention his card...

El Roble is super friendly--really nice owners and staff who will go out of their way to make sure you're okay. The hostel has really big grounds, with hammocks and pools (which had a layer of much on the bottom and didn't look appealing), mango trees, a bar, a shaded patio with tables and a book exchange. Lots of information/maps/shuttle...

Great place to kick back and unwind. You're always looked after and everything you might need is right there. It's a little chicken bus to get into the main town (for supermarkets, ATMs etc) which just makes it more fun. Darren and Seka are great hostsand take time to get to know the guests and help arrange things you may...

The hostel is located in the village of San Diego, a short and easy bus ride from city La Libertad and a short walk from very nice beach. It occupies large and well kept property with just enough foliage and quiet surrounding. There are two swimming pools, a bond-fire place, area for playing basketball, volleyball, badminton, darts; ping-pong table, decent...

This is hostal provides a refuge for anyone looking for a beautiful setting for some serious relaxing. I especially loved the spacious gardens. The food is really good, or you can cook for yourself. The hosts are very helpful with making plans for continuing travels in El Salvador. They made the call to book our next hotel and had a...

I cannot recommend el Roble Hostal enough. A group of six of us stayed for two nights, and had I known how much I would have enjoyed my stay I would have gladly extended it for a few more nights. The hostel itself is nice, but what really set it apart are Darren and the rest of the staff. I...
