We spent 6D5N at this amazing hotel with my two kids, and we loved every moment. The service was the best we're ever experienced, especially for the kids. There were so many activities to enjoy, and the kids club (Tri & Ima) took such a great care of our children that my husband and I could attend the beautiful sunset ceremony.
During breakfast, the staff (Desy, Julio, Dion) was incredibly helpful, providing puzzles and toys for the kids and assisting them in choosing what they wanted to eat. Even the head chef was very nice and even made soup and oil for my son, when he caught a cold. The jetty staff (Boy, Rizal, Cencen) also organized fun acitivites like paddling, snorkeling, and boat rides, which my kids absolutely loved. Our butler Rico is the best, very organized and helpful throughout our stay. The housekeeping staff also deserves a mention for suprising us with animals made from towels, and sweet notes everyday after making up the room. The staff was incredibly kind and made my kids never want to leave. At checkout, they even gave us a memorable gift, which brought tears to my eyes. This hotel truly made our vacation unforgettable. We will come back for sure ! Highly Recommended !

Sometimes I feel the urge to write a review after a visit and this is one of these moments.
The hotel just opened and is Indonesian owned and run by the Marriott group. The benefit is that Marriot has gathered some of there seniors to get the place going. So the food at all 3 restaurants is incredible.
Chef de cuisine Andi Hartono and his team are just outstanding and they blew us away with some incredible dishes and we ended up having all our lunches and dinner in the hotel. ( Try the rendang, made by a Sumatran chef, which is just Indonesian fine dining at its best!) Special mention also for the Sushi being made in front of our eyes with local fish by-Chef Pandir. Jakarta trained he brought his expertise to Flores. I sincerely hope they can keep this standard going, even after Andi will move to his next opening.

Then there is the advantage of an Indonesian owner who loves coffee tea and sports. We highly recommend his teas and especially the tea ceremony in the lounge we really enjoyed. Top quality tea for a very reasonable price.

The coffee is also very very good, although the best coffee we drank during our stay was being made by Singaporean Alboy, chef of the jetty, freediver and an incredible Barista. Maybe he could share his knowledge with the Marriot staff and could they also reconsider their pricing of their local coffee and local water.

Then the sport facilities, the Gym lead by a Flores born personal trainer, is just very very good. I had multiple workouts with him and his colleague from Bali. Highly recommended and the same counts for the Olympic size pool, 50 meters in length, which is quite remarkable and enabled me to some serious swimming. I think this must be the only Marriot run facility with an Olympic size pool…And then there is the Jetty, as mentioned it is still the opening phase, so for diving you still have to look outside the hotel. That counts also for the private speedboat to visit Komodo. The hotel offers it for 14 million, our lovely and very fast butler Nina for 13, but since we wanted our trip to be combined with some diving I had to look outside. To my surprise and at my first attempt I found a private speedboat including 2 guides, captain and crewmember for 7million. Although maybe not as nice as the speedboat offered by the hotel, I think the pricegap is too much.

All in all a very very nice experience in a beautifully designed hotel. Highly recommended.

“An unforgettable experience! The resort breathtaking ocean-view rooms and top-notch service made our vacation a dream come true. Pak Peter, Noni, (Tri & Ima from kids Club-amazing tim to always entertain our daughter) and The staff went above and beyond to cater to our needs, and the on-site adult activities kept us entertained throughout our stay.
Oh also not forget the restaurant exceeded our expectations. The gourmet dishes were expertly prepared, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. A true culinary delight!”
We can’t wait to return.”

Unfortunately, I need to report a bad experience with this recently opened hotel as a Titanium Elite Marriott Bonvoy member. I made the reservation back in April’24 and sent the request to use some of my Nightly Upgrade Awards (NUAs) to upgrade our room to the Overwater Sea Villa. 3 days before the check in (beginning of October’24) I received the confirmation from Marriott Bonvoy that the NUA request was confirmed and our room was upgraded to the Overwater Sea Villa as requested. Almost 10 hours later, the assistant Front Office manager sent me an email informing me that the Overwater Sea Villa was not eligible for upgrade and that there was a system glitch issue between Marriott International and the hotel. They offered me instead to be upgraded to a One Bedroom Villa and to have the NUAs credited back. After several iterations with their Loyalty Manager and their Resort Manager arguing that customers should absolutely not bear the consequence of hotel’s system issues and they should have honoured the confirmed upgrade and even after suggesting to offer us 2 nights out of our 4-night stay at the Overwater Sea Villa, they refused to do so. Consequently, I have cancelled the reservation and asked for the refund of the 1st night deposit immediately.
Total disappointment and terribly not up to the Titanium Elite Marriott Bonvoy member standards! Especially since I was giving a surprise to my partner with this stay!
Piece of advice for anyone attempting to use their NUAs for the Overwater Sea Villa -> I’ve checked and it’s still possible to request it in the app but as mentioned earlier, even if the request comes confirmed they will not honour it!

Brand new beautiful luxury based on local history! The staff is over the top and genuinely wants you to feel that every need is attended to. The one bedroom villa is spacious and the pool is phenomenal. Every staff member from the security guards to Roberto the house keeper knows your names and is completely ready to serve. The property is stunning. For sure this is the best place to stay in Komodo and one of the top places to stay in the world

We only stayed at Ta’aktana for 3D2N. We wish we could stay there for longer.

Everything was beyond perfect - service, food, activities, hotel design, facilities etc. We could not find anything we could complain about.

The staff there went above and beyond to cater to our needs.

Our personal butler, Yosef, helped us arrange all activities during our stay from the moment we arrived at the hotel. The warm welcome by him and the team made us feel so special. He also organized a big surprise for me and my husband to celebrate our belated honeymoon!

The in-house snorkeling and stand-up paddling were definitely highlights during our stay. Shout out to Vincent at Jetty Point, who made water activities extra fun and super easy though it was our first time snorkeling and paddling! We have seen nemo, pufferfish, sea urchins, starfish and also countless types of other fish and coral when we were snorkeling with him.

We also enjoyed sunset yoga conducted by Chandra and sunrise trekking conducted by Risel very much, and they are both professional. The sunrise view at Amelia Hill was truly remarkable, and thanks Risel for encouraging me to walk to the top of the hill.

All the staff were super friendly and passionate about Labuan Bajo. These activities created so many good memories for us.

The food at Ta’aktana is exceptional and the dining service is of top notch. Afternoon at Nera Lounge, dinner at TABA, dinner at Umasa and breakfast at Leros - every dish was perfect and beautifully presented. They all exceeded our expectations! We also enjoyed ourselves very much at Maiga bar for sunset ritual.

This is definitely one of the best hotel stays, and we hope that we will be back one day! Thank you for the great hospitality :)

Stayed here last month, The first Marriott affiliated hotel in Labuan Bajo and just recently open.

Transport from the airport was organised by the hotel and it was very smooth.

The hotel ground itself was very impressive and their seven overwater villas are simply wonderful.
Would love to try them next!

The lobby was perched on top of the hill and its lobby bar (Nera Lounge) have unobstructed view of the sunset.
One floor below, the main restaurant Leros also provide great view towards the sea.
Suitable for people who fancy to have early dinner with the view.

During the stay, I was assigned to the one bedroom villa with private pool.
It was very spacious and beautifully appointed.

I also tried their over the water bar, Maiga! for the sunset hour. Was very lucky as can get nice view of the sunset on all days of my stay.
Must try their sopi (local alcoholic beverage) based cocktails.

The hotel have small coffe roastery near the pool.
Great place to try the famous Flores coffee.

On the final night, I tried Umasa, their Indonesian fine dining outlet.
Fine Indonesian dishes with a twist!

During my stay, the Dai spa and the rooftop restaurant is not yet open.
Will definitely try them on my next visit.

My 5 night vacation was absolutely amazing. As a Titanium Elite, I was upgraded to a sea view villa with private pool which was beautiful and extremely large. Everything was spotless. My butler Rico did a great job and was always checking in with me (even on his day off)!

I made use of the spa, and also went to the Maiga Bar almost every day for the Sunset Ritual. I was offered a Nera Sunset trek one evening which I graciously accepted.

The food was excellent at all 3 restaurants and all of them had vegetarian options. The chef came out to say hello after all my meals and to ask how I enjoyed the food.

But I think what we really set the hotel above all others was the staff. I wish I could remember everyone's name because they all seemed to know mine. But some of the people that really stood out were Geri, Yudha, Noni and especially Ririn who saved me when I found out I needed cash (400K IDR) for my Komodo Island tour.

I highly recommend this hotel, and definitely plan to return.

This Luxury Collection Hotel is a Marriott property which just opened in May 2024.

It is located about 10 minutes from the Komodo airport, and also 10 minutes from the LaBuan Bajo port.

It is a luxury property comparable to Ritz Carlton or ST Regis. Phenomenal service provided by front desk and dining staff from 3 restaurants and lounge.

Shout out to our personal butler Mr. Lalu.

Highly recommended for your luxurious stay in LaBuan Bajo
