Detailed Reviews
I stayed here for 3 nights specifically for the beachfront, private beach with house reef.
The check in was efficient and staff speak good English. The shuttle to town is easy to ask for and is around 75k. Also, to the airport on departure is only 10 minutes away.
The room was cheap, beachfront room with direct access to the beach. For what I paid for the room, it was just as I expected, clean but a little dated but more than good enough for just 3 nights.
The bed was large, clean and comfortable. My AC was good. The full size fridge still worked without the electricity card being in. There was no hairdryer. The bathroom was OK. There was a kettle and 2 small bottles of water daily... you can get water at meal times from the dispenser in the restaurant or buy bottled over the counter.
The beach was great! Stunning views and sunsets. There were beds outside each room on the beach and towels were provided. There is also table and chairs on the patio directly outside the room. The beach is private and I had it to myself. The beach is cleaned by hotel staff, if you go out early int he morning, sadly there is a lot of plastic washed up. I didn't use any of the swimming pools.
The snorkeling was adequate, not outstanding. Plenty of reef fish you would expect and a lot of species of coral but also some bleaching. I would have expected greater numbers of fish for the size of the reef but it kept me happy for many hours for 3 days. There is a lot of plastic waste in the reef. If I had been brave enough to swim further out towards the small island across the water, i believe there is better to be had there. There are canoes available to use from the beach.
The restaurant is good and its nice to sit outside. I didn't find mosquito's a problem. Breakfast has plenty of options, from continental to traditional and good coffee. Evening menu was slightly limited but enough to choose from and very tasty too. The staff in the restaurant are lovely and helped with my dancing skills! Thank you Anastasya :-)

The hotel was adequate for the price we paid. The bathroom is a bit on the dirty side. The glass partition for the shower was not enough to keep the water from splashing all over the floor. The bottom of the toilet could be cleaned since it's got black ring around it. The AC unit was not working properly. There were not enough outlets to charge our phones. We literally had to unplug the fridge and the TV to use the outlets. However, the beach front is nice and the restaurant serves great food. The shuttle to the city was expensive. Mosquito is a problem when sitting outdoors.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The property is located a bit further from the city center, so if you're looking to be close to the main attractions, that’s something to keep in mind. One of the first things we noticed is that the hotel lobby is open air and doesn't have any air conditioning, which might be important for those who prefer a cooler arrival experience.
When we checked into our room, we encountered an issue with the card reader not working. Maintenance came and tried to fix it, but after a delay, we were switched to another room. The room was a standard size, and like others have mentioned, the A/C isn’t turned on when you enter, so be prepared for it to take a while to cool down, especially during the hotter months. That said, the view was wonderful — we had a great view of the water, and the sunsets were stunning.
However, there were a few downsides. The trim on the baseboards was extremely dirty, to the point where it was quite noticeable. Additionally, the shower area has no barrier to stop the water from leaking out, so a lot of water ended up in the toilet area, which was inconvenient. Another thing to consider is the cost of transportation. If you’re on a budget and don’t have a car, the rides to and from the city center will add up, increasing your overall expenses.
On the plus side, the restaurant area was nice, and the property itself is large. The breakfast buffet was decent, and we appreciated the to-go breakfast box they provided for our tour to Komodo Island.
At $56 per night, the price wasn’t bad, but there are other properties closer to the city center that might be a better fit, especially if you're on a budget.

Before we went, we were afraid of some bad reviews we had seen. But this was not needed: all in all a very clean hotel with great price quality ratio in that area.
Room was basic but clean and spacious (only the fridge had a smell inside)
Breakfast is more than OK. We went into town, each time by cab (5€ one way)
The beach is nice with good loungers and they offer towels as well.
Only down side was the garbage in the sea washing up to shore.
I think there is no better value than this, for that price.
Afterwards we went to a 5* at Seraya Isands, which was way better but also way more expensive. At the end we also stayed 1 night at Ayana but that was a total rip of. Better to go low budget at Sylvia or high end at Seraya.

This hotel is so well placed, next to a five star, but it lacks decent management and needs some capital investment. Lovely sandy beach, and cottages set in gardens, but with heaps of smouldering rubbish and general junk behind the bungalows. My cottage room 01 is very strange. The aircon clatters and the fridge is very noisy. The tiles in the bathroom are dangerous, I cut my toe on the jagged edge, where one row of tiles is proud of the next row. There are scraping noises that go on and on until eight o clock at night from some sort of maintenance facility at the back of my room. I went out and all I could find outside was a man shirking and playing with his mobile phone on a plastic chair by the wall of my place. He told me he was on the staff and worked in the office. A couple of hours later he was still there and I told him to clear off or I would fetch security. He went further down the back of the building and I followed. Again, I threatened to go to reception. (a long walk away in the dark) He went, and a man from the facility removed the chair at my insistence. On day two the scraping continues.
This is such a stupidly unplanned room. There are no bedside lights so you must venture in the dark from a light switch across the room. The valance on the bed is dirty. The water in the basin lingers. Dangerous three socket adaptor split open that operates the fridge and kettle. Toilet seat broken.
The restaurant offers snacks, it can hardly be called a restaurant. It smells of the mopping disinfectant. It sells Bintang in 600ml bottles and no wine.
Cleaning staff lovely and friendly but they removed the towels and they were not replaced until presumably they were laundered a few hours later. Beach towels are at a premium too.
There are about four sun beds at this end of the beach so there are not enough for me to have one. The beach is nice, but there is a lot of uncleared seaweed. There is little to see when snorkelling frankly, quite a bit of plastic junk though, that should be cleared away. A few mini coral reefs.
I would not recommend this hotel unless they invest in beach furniture for everyone, and sort out the check in procedure, and the restaurant menu and the bathrooms. It costs 100,000 IDR for a taxi to town and the same back. I am looking forward to leaving tomorrow if I can get a taxi.

The Sylvia resort has a lovely beach and has clearly been a premium resort in the past. The staff (reception, restaurant and cleaning) are very friendly and helpful and could not have been pleasant, in direct contrast to Sylvia’s 5* neighbour, the #Ayana, where the reception appear to have forgotten their manners.
The hotel restaurant needs some work, the food is not great and takes a while to appear. Simple things, like covering bread, pastries etc at the breakfast buffet would improve its quality and freshness. The cottages are clean, if somewhat basic and the bathrooms could do with an upgrade. But you pays your money and all in all we had a good stay.
It is possible to get a car down to the town and the hotel are happy to arrange this. The hotel is about a 10 - 15 minute drive from town.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Sylvia Beach Resort. The room was dirty with several broken parts, including a broken sink in the bathroom that was never fixed. The restaurant had a very limited menu and was overrun by cats jumping on the tables. When I requested a hairdryer, I had to wait three hours to receive it. Behind the rooms, there were piles of plastic waste that were burned at night, creating a terrible smell. Additionally, there was plastic littered on the beach. I strongly advise against staying here.

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel especially after reading the mixed reviews prior
We checked in after a 4 day boat trip and we loved the beachside cottage with a great view. It is a large place with a couple of pools and various places to lounge along the beach so it never seemed busy or crowded.
Our room 3 was clean and spacious with seating outside, however the toilet seat was not fixed properly.
The food and drink menu was very limited which seems like such a miss as the hotel is quite remote and they have little competition so having more options such as a full bar etc would make sense. The pizza was fairly average but I enjoyed some of the Indonesian food on their menu, but they could do with side notes in English to explain what they are
Staff were all very friendly and we enjoyed our couple of days relaxing at the end of our holiday.

Unfortunately we had 6 problems in our stay ranging from dangerous major issues to minor issues and had no management follow up. See below details.
• Slow Check In
â—‹ When we arrived at the agreed check in time to the desk, there were 3 people in front of us, it took 15 minutes to get to be served and then it took 20 minutes for them to get us a room.
• Leaking Toilet - Right away we used the toilet and noticed it smelt, when we used the toilet we found out that it was leaking out of the bottom. The cleaning lady was there and cleaned around it and told us it was fixed. We flushed and showed her it still leaked. We had two young maintenance men who explored and ended up using caulking around toilet which fixed the leak but made the room smell.
• Broken Safe - While waiting for toilet to get fixed we noticed the safe was not working. The same maintenance man, tried to fix it and could not and told us he would be back soon. I waited in the room for him for about 45 minutes and then finally gave up and went to the beach. When I got back it was fixed.
• No Beach Towels - There was no towels in the afternoon when we arrived which happens in lots of hotels but in the morning, it also took them over two hours to get pool towels.
• Dangerous Boat - We rented the hotel kayak to go for a paddle. About 15 minutes into our paddle, I noticed the boat was taking on water, and slowly starting to sink. My wife and I had to jump out of the kayak and swim with it to a dock at nearby hotel. When I pulled it up on the dock, found out that the kayak had a hole in it and was thus slowly taking water into the hull. Luckily we are strong swimmers and were able swim a sufficient distance save their boat from sinking fully
• I called hotel to tell them and despite it only being a 4 minute drive by car away it took over 40 minutes for them to come pick us up. We sat wet in the lobby waiting, soaking wet, waiting for a pick up.
• I explained all the above issues to the manager in person. She said she would look into it and changing our room and getting compensated. For the next two days she did not come back to us and I asked the front lobby 4 times and they did not have any answers. When we checked out still no answers and they offered to comp us free hotel transfer which was not worth all our hassles.
• The beach is beautiful and the price was reasonable if service was reasonable.
• The staff at the restaurant always have a big smile, I want to really love this place and give it a good review but with the above issues and no fixing of issues I cannot.

We stayed 3 mights here. It is in a beautiful location. Staff very willing to help. Great value for money, particularly when you compare it to the large and expensive resorts around it. We would definitely stay here again.

Hi Pam,
You could contact direct to property to arrange pick up transfer in by email, tells your arrival time and flight details.
It’s only transfer in for free but to transfer out payable.
I hope this inform clear. Have a nice stay there and enjoy your happiness with stunning moment.
At restaurants the price you see on the menu doesn't reflect the true price. Sometimes it be up to 24% on top of the price on the menu. I don't know about hotel prices, as we had an agent who gave us a price including all accommodation.
We got a beach facing room and it was literally you walk out of the room and the beach is at your toes!! It is an inlet, so not a beach as such but it is absolutely beautiful!!!
