For our first time staying in Komodo, East Nusa Tenggara, we chose Plataran after seeing in the resort website, its Hanging Pool Villa; indeed in reality, the interior was modern, clean, lots of natural light, and not to forget, the amazing view from both floors (it’s a two-storey villa). The villa is overlooking the Waecicu Beach, and coincidentally during our stay was the moment of strawberry moon to occur, so the combined view of the ocean and the full moon was spectacular.
Frankly I didn’t expect much from staying at this resort, but oh boy how wrong was I! The service turned out to be amazing and the taste & quality of food were delicious and fresh. We also had the private BBQ dinner which was served by the beach; wow the food was so good and the quality of the seafood was top of the line.
Shout out to the F&B team for working their hardest to provide gluten & dairy free meals for my younger daughter who has allergies. Also all the staff was very friendly, sincere, and genuinely went to the extra mile to make sure that we experienced our holiday at its best. Thank you to Bu Fati (the nice lady at the reception), Bunga (our butler), Daniel (one of the waiters), Charles (our island tour guide) and everyone else whom I didn’t catch their names. Without a doubt, our best 5 star hotel experience!
We've stayed in various 5 star hotels across APAC, US and Europe and this is our best one by far. I won't describe the great room amenities etc as it can be found in any other 5 star hotels.
What makes this resort stands out from than any other 5 star resorts are as follows: 1. Personalized experience We were assigned with a butler, named Jeremy H and he pinged us a few days before the trip to ask for our flight details for pick up. Our flight was delayed and he kept track on it from the ground and was there we landed. Furthermore, he also kindly assisted us with our various asks/needs - from getting a tour to rental car + driver to small things like getting motion sickness meds.
2. Unbelievable attentive and warm crew Most of the staff greets our daughter by name at every breakfast, walk, and dinner. We arrived at around 10 and we didn't think of breakfast since we thought that we missed it but one of the crews, knocked on our door briefly after we arrived to ask if we'd like breakfast since it's still available for next few minutes. [PS: breakfast is included in the price already]
When our 4 yrs old daughter almost fell off her chair, 2 people ran to try catch her and they did. I asked one time about the beach condition (it was a little messy when we arrived due to heavy rain for few days prior), then the next day, someone kindly asked me if I had a chance to enjoy the beach since the beach outside our villa is now clean and has chairs now [who'd remember that I asked in passing once? Let alone remembering where we stayed]
From front office to restaurant staff - they are all amazing! One of the front office staff, Samsul, seeing how my daughter was looking for shells, got a few hermit crabs to show to my daughter (which we released afterwards =D )
3. The little details... The hotel provides (price included) afternoon tea and Jeremy kindly pinged us on the first day to remind us of it. Then there's also the early evening mosquito repellent service...
At the end of the day, the question I always asked myself is - will we come back given the chance? the answer is a resounding 100% YES! <In fact, we tried to extend a few days but alas they're fully booked ... >

If your looking for a one of a lifetime experience, you will definately not regret to stay at Plataran Komodo. This is a resort where you expect to provide ultimate service, with friendly staff and great food.
You are picked up at the airport with a van and thinking that they will drop you off at the resort but NO, they actually take you to the harbour and a speed boat is ready for you to take you to the resort! How fantastic is that!!!
Once you arrived at the jetty, you are greeted by a warm staff who was dressed in the native custom, we were serve a local refreshing drinks!
From the jetty, you can already imagine of the resort feel as it blends with the natural surrounding and as far as you can see it's crystal blue water with white sandy beach!
The villa is really spacious and all the amenities and perks you can imagine during this covid times are presented so you are guarantee to have a good level of safety protocols.
As the resorts blends with the nature you really can feel the warmth, peacefulness and calmness of the resorts even at that time the resorts are running full you can go to one corner and feels the resorts belong to you alone.
I had stumble across a few outside guests who was staying at the nearby resort and they told me that this is a better resort comparing to the price they had to pay by getting a regular room verses staying at Plataran Komodo you get your own spacious villa! They commented about the food here was even better! One of the guests even actually cut short staying and moved to Plataran saying that the it's a better value with a better beach and magnificent sunset which the other resorts didn't have.
The next morning, I tried a few activties and one of it was snorkling and had a great experienced. I even had a chance to see a baby manta ray!
If you come to a place like Labuan Bajo, this is definitely the place to stay with spacious villa and all around nature!
Oh don't worry about the noice from the construction site as I was told that it will be completed by November 2020 so now you get an option to book a newer villa!

One of our greatest highlights of our whole Indonesia trip was Plataran and especially our private butler Sakti! He was absolutely phenomenonal using thoughtful initiative, always being at the right place at the right time and going above and beyond for us in every instance. For example, it was my girlfriend Kathie's 30th and he put in extra personal hours before his shift to prepare a surprise birthday cake for her, we also disappointedly experienced plumbing issues with no water running however Sakti single handedly boiled water in buckets and ran back and forth to fill up our hot bathtub full and on our way out he carried 4 big bags of luggage by himself up the stairs refusing to let us lift a finger. Sakti was absolutely flawless from start to finish and we hope his genuine nature continues to feel rewarded and his success continues to grow because he has incredible potential!
We stayed in the Deluxe Beachfront resident and we were extremely happy with the beautiful king sized bed and probably the biggest bathroom we ever experienced. The backyard pool and leisure centre infront of the beach with blissful music playing made us wish we could relax here forever! We were lucky enough to receive 7min complimentary massages from Maria and they were to do die for so we kept coming back to book in 1hr sessions! Love Plataran and cannot stop talking about it to our friends and family, if in Komodo Island and want the most relaxing experience, YOU MUST STAY HERE! 😁

Absolutely loved the villas. The staff were very warm and helpful. They accommodated all our requests for vegetarian meals in the best way they could. We stayed here for 3 days and spent a lot of time just enjoying the sound of the birds and waves, watching the sunsets, snorkeling. Would love to stay in Plataran properties - they have a clear focus on sustainability. There was no single use plastic used in the hotel, they have a water dispenser in the room, they have a large pot of water to wash feet instead of a running tap, all building materials and art has been locally sourced to name a few.

Awesome first impression. Amazing location and stunning twin roomed accomodation on the beach. Several restaurants, gorgeous pool and a pier worthy of instagram. Given 4 stars as overall operations and service werent as good as you would expect for a fine hotel. Pros: Attention to detail and quality of the double family room was excellent and on par with 5 star hotels. Variety of restaurants Rooms were massive Each room comes with its own garden area and entrance lobby Snorkelling and swimming easy from the beach Romantic beach dining options and seafood bbq were great We were made to feel very welcome when arriving at the hotel and the airport pickup was well organised Lovely views of the islands breakfast service was great and well managed with many european and indonesian options included. The location has its own boat tours to the komodo islands but these are substantially higher cost than in Labouan Bajo Great place to watch fish and baby blacktip sharks and feed the fish in the evenings from the pier Gorgeous place to watch the sun set
Cons: Dinner service was poor (meals arrived at different times) and quality of the al la carte meal was what you get in a basic restaurant unless you upgrade to the seafood bbq. Whilst water sports were available - alot of the equipment was broken or in need or service. Paddleboards not blown up - basic paddles We noticed other guests had issues with the gym equipment although this did get fixed the following day The Plataran group pushes sustainability however all the beach debris was buried each morning in the sand including the plastic Each room is allocated a butler service - however we spent more time chasing them unless there was an upsell. There is a lovely bar at the end of the pier however not all staff were aware of when it was open which is annoying when you walk there and find it closed.
Overall a fantastic location but management need to get the operations of the hotel working like a 5 star experience which you are charged for.

We spent 7 days in April 2021 in the beautiful Plataran Komodo Beach Resort. We, and especially our small children, enjoyed the stay very much.
We chose the Garden Villa which is very specious and beautifully decorated. The bathroom seems to be quite new. The room and bathroom were very clean upon arrival and were cleaned very well every day. The Garden Villas are not directly at the beach and also don’t have an ocean view. However, it only takes about one minute to reach the beach by foot.
During our stay, only the restaurant “On the rocks” was open. The food and service were good. We enjoyed the breakfast at the restaurant; for lunch, tea and dinner, we wished to sit at the beach – which was no problem at all. It was also possible to order food for our children which was not on the menu. In this regard, the service was excellent.
The whole resort is very beautiful. It is located directly at a beautiful beach and is integrated into a beautiful garden. The resort also provides for kajaks (for free) with wich one easily can reach a nearby island. There are good snorkling spots at the resort and at the nearby island. The beach is very long which is nice for taking walks. The whole atmosphere is very charming and relaxing.
The hotel also organized a Covid antigen test at the hotel for us. That was very convenient.
Especially for small children, this is a very beautiful place: They have a lot of space to run around at the beach and in the garden. The ocean is easy to access as the water is narrow and there are no high waves. The staff is very friendly and helpful with children.

It is the best resort we’ve ever stayed in. The facilities are top notch and location is perfect for those who want exclusivity and relaxing time. But what really set this resort apart is the staff. Every single staff strives to please the guest. Our butler, Pak Syamsul, was always one step ahead in anticipating our needs. On the day we had a boat trip to Komodo, he arranged for breakfast boxes and towels for us, without being asked first. The rest of the staff know you by name immediately. Everyone really goes above and beyond to give memorable time to the guest. The locations is also perfect to see sunset. We did snorkelling, kayaking, stand up paddle, all off their beach. It is truly a paradise on earth!! We can say enough good thing about this place. I really hope they continue to maintain this level of quality!

We just got back from a magical week at Plataran Komodo. We had amazing experiences which will stay with us forever. The resort itself is beautiful and from the moment we arrived we were so welcome and really felt so special and so well looked after! The service is impeccable, we had Oksa helping us with romantic dinners, making sure our anniversary and my birthday were memorable and unforgettable. From bringing cookies to our daughter to booking transportation, organizing breakfast boxes at 5:30am for our dive and Komodo trips, there was nothing we could think that he wasn’t already providing or thought about! Every member of the staff is so kind, polite, sweet and go the extra mile to make sure our stay was great. The resort grounds, with the private beach, stunning views, everything was so beautiful and breathtaking. Our Hanging Pool Villa had spectacular views to the ocean, we loved the view from the two balconies, the bathroom, room and living room were spectacular. The food is also great, we ate at Xanadu and Atlantis and had fabulous meals. The breakfast and afternoon tea were also delicious. This was a magic trip; such a great experience and we can’t wait to come back to Plataran Komodo. Truly the best resort stay we’ve ever had. I booked the beach front residence for my partner’s birthday and every second at Plataran Komodo was incredible.
The resort itself was beautiful and thoughtfully built. The room was even nicer than the photos on the website and there were not issues with bugs unlike most of the beachfront properties.
The best part of the experience was the service. I’m talking about personalized hospitality - from planning breakfast boxes for our island trip (with an external vendor), to setting up a sunset picnic at Lost Paradise (it’s a private and exclusive beach about 10 min drive away), everything was perfect. These are just few of the many magical moments which left an deep impression on us.
We want to thank Syam, and the entire team at Plataran Komodo for making this trip truly unforgettable.

We stayed here in June 2018. Our villa was certainly big enough for the hotel to provide an extra bed. Not sure that there was an extra bed /bed sette already in the room so you will have to contact the hotel directly. We did the Komodo Dragon tour with Thomas Travel Adventures, recommended by a friend, and can be contacted via TripAdvisor. They picked us up with their boat at the hotel’s jetty. Thomas Travel Adventires also arranged for all our ground transport. They are very professional and friendly.
