Scuba Junkie Komodo is a 5* PADI dive centre and eco-dive resort. Being located away from the crowds of Labuan Bajo means that the evenings are relaxed and quiet. We have a decking area that is perfect for watching the sunset. We currently have two custom made dive boats that provide a great place to relax between dives and enjoy the stunning scenery. Being closer to the Komodo National Park means that we can get to the dive sites just that little bit earlier, avoiding seeing other dive centres at the dive sites. We look forward to diving with you!

From start to finish our week with scuba junkie Komodo was impeccable. I was here in 2016 to complete my open water and it was always my dream to come back. Finally we made it back this fall. We stayed in a bale which was an affordable way to do the week. It was basic but comfortable. We felt so well taken care of the entire week from the boat crew handling our equipment between dives, to the dive guides making sure we were safe and comfortable on our dives (shout out to Rahma and Rory who were both fabulous!!!), to the food which was divine. This is honestly the best dive company I’ve ever dove with in the best diving location I’ve ever been. If you come to Komodo (and you should) you should book with scuba junkie. You will not be disappointed!!! Thank you scuba junkie for a great week 😊

This is a must visit location for all divers! A small slice of paradise set in an idyllic location. The staff both in the resort and on the boats are incredible. A special thanks to Kim for her wonderful hospitality, Rory for being an all round great guy (and Sata Dua champion) and Yadi for being the best dive guide i have ever had the pleasure of diving with. My original plan was to stay for 10 days, however after being there for only a matter of hours and witnessing the most incredible sunset, i cancelled my Bali plans and extended my stay for another 5 days- a great decision. The diving in Komodo is without doubt some of the best in the world, with something to offer for everyone, whether you're a critter hunter or shark fanatic! I was blessed to have several beautiful close encounters with the famous Komodo mantas. Without sounding too corny, I arrived as a guest and left as friend. Look forward to returning asap, only next time i will be staying even longer.

….this would be it. Kim, Rory & the wonderful Indonesian crew are making you feel very welcome from the minute you arrive, to the sad moment you have to leave. Everything is organised for you and all you need to do is relax and enjoy the experience. The resort is based in a remote location, perfect for the best dive site in the world - abundance in marine live and exciting drift dives all round. However, if you look for a 5* beach resort and a spa facility- this may not be for you. Everything is geared around diving - and it works like a clockwork! We stayed in the little bungalow type huts, which are very clean and comfortable with air con and mosquito nets. Cleanliness, and Covid awareness are top of mind all round- sanitizer and soap is available ad lib everywhere incl the boats. All kit is sanitised at the end of every dive. It has been mentioned before, there is no Wi-Fi. To us, this is exactly what we wanted - however, if you need Wi-Fi or connectivity- suggest to bring a local SIM card. That said - the views are so much better than any instagram picture!!! The food on site and on the boat is just outstanding. Local Indonesian food - roll up early for a coffee, breakfast and lunch are served on the boat. I have dietary requirements, and the adorable kitchen crew couldn’t do enough to make sure, I get fed and watered - I loved the little smileys they wrote on my little lunchbox! Dinner is served in the main area - super tasty Indonesian buffet style food in a very social setting…not to mention the doughnuts that wait for you, when you come back in the afternoon…legendary!! The dive masters are incredibly knowledgeable of the area and are able to spot the smallest shrimp from about half a mile away. However, what stood out was the focus on safety and security for everyone. Dive briefings are very thorough, well presented and considerate of the different skills on the boat. The dive groups (and boats) are split by experience, so that everyone gets the best experience of the days diving there. The boats are spacious, and well presented again, with the crew being very helpful and courteous. This is a perfect place to spend a few days to get your scuba fix - we loved it every minute of it..

My girlfriend and I stayed at Scuba Junkie for 4 nights in July 2022 and had an absolute blast. From the moment we got there the entire staff was warm and welcoming, helping us get settled. We ended up chatting with them frequently throughout our stay because they were so personable! Kim, Rowen, Rory, and Max all made our trip so comfortable, relaxed, and special. In fact, all of the divers were very social too, creating a super fun atmosphere. Not to mention how incredible the dives were!! Each day we went out we saw the most intact, beautiful reefs I’ve ever seen. You go out for 3 dives and are on the boat all day, relaxing, and enjoying one another’s company (breakfast and lunch served on the boat!). Try and get Rahma as your guide, she’s the GOAT (greatest of all time). In addition, the rooms are clean and beautiful. While you’re out on the boat they’re cleaned to keep them that way. We had a room with AC but honesty might not have even needed it. They really think of everything here and go out of their way to make your experience as great as possible. I strongly recommend you stay and dive here!

Stayed at scuba junkie for a few days and two days of diving. Such a lovely place! Friendly and knowledgable dive instructors who really looked after us all. Boat crew were lovely and so helpful too. Accommodation was very nice - only issue is that there’s no wifi and barely any signal anywhere but it’s a good excuse to switch off for a few days and this is something you’re made aware of when booking :) would definitely stay/dive with scuba junkie again!

I went in for New Years holiday and they were having a lovely promo (check their website for promo possibility) and I spent 3 nights in their Bale. I was preparing for the worst and even thinking of bringing my own blanket (glad I didn't) turns out everything is so much better than what I prepared for, their beds are comfy, it's not as cold as I thought it would be, sharing bathrooms are great, more than I needed actually so if you're on a budget trip, get the Bale I'd recommend it. All of the staff are wearing masks religiously, their new health protocol deserves appreciation alone. Their customer service experience is wonderful, responsive to emails, act quickly and prepared, from the Managers, dive instructors, down to the boat crew and pick up drivers. This will not be my first time, I am coming back again!

I have been diving for 40 years around the whole world and I have to say that scuba junkie is great and definitely the best organized dive resort I have been at. Great food, good accommodation, very friendly staff, very nice day trip boat and the diving was superb and great dive guides with lot of knowledge about the dive sites and especially about the marine life. Thank you so much guys!

We stayed at the SJ Resort for a week with six days of diving. Communication and support in planning the trip were superb. Lydia replied quickly to emails and was really patient as I tried to make the trip work. Emails were full of information and never less than clear, supportive/flexible and friendly. The resort is small and beautiful, nestled into the bay, beside a small village. The reception and dining/social area is right beside the beach and has plenty of room to eat and chat as well as comfy chairs and hammocks looking over the beach and one of the best sunsets I have ever seen. There are more seats and hammocks on the jetty which are great places to relax and stare at the view or watch schools of little fish leaping from the water. Rooms are comfortable, air conditioned and impeccably clean - they were cleaned each day while we dived. The food was tasty, freshly cooked with love and served in sufficient quantities to fuel us through the dives. Breakfast on the boat was lovely with cooked items (pancakes or eggs how you want them) served alongside bread and fruit. Lunch was big portions of rice or noodles alongside fresh fruit and sambal. Dinner is served at the resort and consisted of a mix of delicious items: chicken, tempe, fritters, rice, noodles, veg and plenty of fruit. All of the food was delicious and home cooked. There was loads of it! Diving was stunning, far beyond the reach of words to adequately describe - world class dive sites, bogglingly healthy and diverse coral reefs teeming with life and some stunningly beautiful underwater topography at sites like Batu Bolong, Tatawa Kecil and, of course the awe and wonder of the overhang at Polis Point. I did 18 dives over six days and not one of them disappointed. Current travel restrictions meant as well that, while we occasionally passed by other boats, we only shared dive sites with other divers on twice. We were guided by Lydia who combined an obvious love for Komodo diving with a professional attention to safety and planning at all times. Briefings were thorough and prepared us for the specifics of each dive site including the life we might see and any safety issues to consider. We were lucky to be joined by Kim and Rory throughout our trip (and by Ewan for a day). They added even more knowledge, experience and insight to the trip as well as being superb company on and off the boat. Kim’s willingness to step in as medical support to sort out my minor foot injury was above and beyond! The boat team were exceptional and did a brilliant job of navigating us both around the park and in and out of our dive gear. Like the dive staff, they were great fun but also professional and focused on doing a brilliant job. It was a real treat to spend time with a group of people with such an obvious love for what they do. We dived from the biggest boat, Xiphias which is comfortable and well equipped. We always had at least an hour to get out to the dive sites and back and sometimes longer but this was a part of the day that I looked forward to: time to relax upstairs and enjoy the gorgeous Komodo scenery or to chat, read or nap. Scuba Junkie have taken precautions to minimise any risk due to Covid-19 for visitors and staff. Hand sanitiser stations are positioned around the boat and the resort, visitors are fully briefed on expectations and staff lead by example. Masks are worn, temperatures of staff and visitors are checked regularly and test results were checked prior to arrival. I would recommend the Scuba Junkie Resort to anyone considering a trip to Komodo. I have been blown away by the resort, boats, diving but most of all by the fantastic team of people who have shown us Komodo and looked after us like visiting friends for the last week. Thank you to Lydia, Ewan, Kim, Rory and the rest of the brilliant Scuba Junkie team for blowing our minds with the utterly amazing diving and for making the visit such an absolute pleasure.
