I would highly recommend this place to spend a few days in the middle of a fantastic hills setting. This B&B is hidden in the cournty side and is worth a stay. The rooms are immaculate, the decoration is stunning and we can tell that every detail has been considered to make this place friendly and beautiful. The terraced garden is full of flowers and plants and ends by a large swimming pool with a fantastic view on the mountains.
The breakfast is generous and good and I would definitely recommend to try Alain's cuisine for a dinner.
The only downside is the absence of a common area in the "Appartement" room : there are 2 beautiful rooms and a bathroom but nowhere to sit down and share a coffee in the "Appartement".
Both Marie-Do and Alain are very warm but not inquisitive. They make us want to come back

The website says, and I quote: “Looking for peace and quiet? Need a rest with natural surrounding?” This could not be further from the truth. We looked long and hard for a quiet area to spend 4 nights, 5 days in mid July. We picked Terrasses de Montaulieu for its secluded location, small number of rooms and gorgeous aesthetic. We arrived late on a Wednesday night, were welcomed by the hosts with a glass of wine and a wonderful chocolate dessert. It was so calm that you could hear the crickets and there was not a car for miles, as the hotel/chamber d’hotes is located in an old medieval village, with no stores or real activity.

The next morning at 7:15 we are woken up by 3 kids under the age of 6 screaming outside our window. This continues until 9 am when I go to talk to the hotel owner who informs me that beside our room is a ‘gite’ (cottage rental) and the children will be there all weekend, nothing she can do. (Later find out that there are 2 gites attached to our room...
