My partner and I spent eight days at this wonderful location this October. I have been to Nova Scotia before and I love the people! Our stay at the Lighthouse Motel & Cottages was wonderful! What is obvious to me is the love that went into renovating and restoring this place and how much love goes into making it special for people to stay there. The attention to detail, the level of cleanliness and the multitude of extras are proof that Marc and his team love this place! It oozes care and pride! I highly recommend a stay here and I will most likely return! It is so refreshing in this age of cookie cutter hotels to find a gem like this! Thank you Marc! Linda Grossi & Cristian Biagiotti

We really enjoyed our very short stay. We had a small challenge finding the property but once we arrived, Marc and his two wonderful dogs were incredibly welcoming. He provided us with a little tour of the property, dining recommendations, etc. I was travelling with my husband and 75lb dog. In my opinion it can be very challenging to find a truly dog friendly property but this place was perfect. We stayed in a small studio room right on the river. Despite its size, it was clean, tastefully decorated and comfortable. There was a little "beach" and river access that our dog absolutely loved. We had a dock right outside of our room and took the opportunity to enjoy a cup of coffee and the beautiful scenery in the morning. This is truly a lovely spot and a very welcoming environment. I would definitely stay there again and encourage my friends/family to do the same. As for our dog Camden, he gives it 4 paws up! Thank you for a great stay!

We booked a little getaway here from the city while visiting my parents and couldn’t be happier. The owner Mark and receptionist Shelley were incredibly hospitable as you would expect out east! The property is stunning. We enjoyed a glass of wine at night and morning coffee parked right in front of the water. The view can’t be beat! The room was charming and comfortable. We will be beach next year for sure and can’t wait to try the Boathouse lodging. Bonus points for having the sweetest dogs on property!

Loved this place! First of all Marc and the staff working there are a pleasure. So attentive, helpful and friendly. The motel is beautifully decorated and maintained, and the rooms were quiet. We stayed in the boathouse and enjoyed lovely water views. The kitchenette is well stocked with everything you'd need. We used the barbecue close to the boathouse on both nights and ate outside. Had a terrific sunset cruise on the LaHavre River with Jim as our captain, sat around the bonfire with some other guests, and loved sitting on the dock in the morning. It's close to Bridgewater if you need anything, not far from some great beaches, and they provide a helpful list of restaurant options. We will definitely be back!

This place is going to be the highlight of your vacation. We were so pleased with everything the moment we turned in the driveway. We travel with our maltese and it is very important that she is comfortable as much as we are. They are so pet friendly that you will find dog toys all over their property outside, something I never seen before anywhere else. They offer a pantoon ride on the beautiful water and that was so awesome and peaceful. We stayed in the Ragatta room and that was a real treat. We don't regret one penny spent at this location. There is absolutely nothing negative I can say about this place or the owners. Treat yourself and make your reservation 😊

What a treasure. The property is totally renovated and redesigned from it’s original motel state. Well done and beautifully decorated & designed in a beachy -nautical theme. Very family friendly. There is a cute little beach, a great dock and area around a fire pit. The owner is very nice and hard working, he’s friendly & always present with his 2 beautiful dogs. Short drive to Lahave bakery and 20 mins to Rissers Beach. Dog friendly!

What a gem of a place! We stayed in the Regatta Room and it felt like we were actually ON the river, watching the moon reflected on the water, and the sunrise from our window. We had a great swim off the dock and a lovely - gossipy- sunset boat ride with Jim. The owner and his dogs are so sweet, and the property is immaculate. We’ll definitely go back!

My fiancé and I stayed two nights in the “white room” at the lighthouse motel and can’t say enough good about the place! Our room was clean, cozy and charming. The grounds of the property are beautiful, with lots of common areas to hang out in. There are also lots of great eats just a short drive away. The owner/host was incredibly welcoming. Everything about the environment was warm and familiar. Upon check out we did not get a chance to connect with the hosts. They took the time to send a special email wishing us well and even mentioned our dog (who we probably said the name of once!) My fiancé and I do not often repeat vacations (just because there is so much world to see) but we will definitely be back to the lighthouse and will be recommending it to all of our friends and family!

Mark and his team create an amazing experience in this beautiful community on the LaHave River. The soft music piped throughout, wonderfully groomed grounds, inviting chairs everywhere, cozy and smartly appointed rooms and attention to detail and attentiveness made this a relaxing vacation. The open dog friendly concept started with a greeting by his 2 Portuguese Water Dogs and made made a great experience for our older “pup” too. We stayed in the “forever plaid” room on the waters edge. We will go back to enjoy this place again.
