We chose Altai Oasis on the recommendation of friends - Sorata doesn't have the best accommodation anyway so this place was adequate. Quite a hike from town down a steep hill if you take the trail but still only 15 minutes or so. The grounds are nice enough, the pool not so much, and the staff are OK. We had...

This hotel was recommended to me by a colleague. At first I was not sure if I should go because of the previous very negative review, but at the end decided to give it a chance, and I am glad I did! Upon arrival, my family was greeted by a charming 2-year old girl shouting 'ninos, ninos!' and hugging my...

Firstly, it's a nice place. Quiet, peaceful and away from the town. But it's a LONG way from the town. So far that you are basically compelled to eat at least one meal a day there and it's a taxi ride to get to it. Definitely not 10 mins walk. Secondly it's stupid expensive for what it is. We didn't...

I spent one night in march 2013. I was not satisfied by the services of the hotel : bad breackfest, no internet access, restaurant closed, far away from Sorata (40 min by foot instead 10 min on their advertising). lot of humidity on the rooms, mosquitos and spiders. Due to the huge price paid, I explain to the staff my...

I've been visiting Altai Oasis since 2005 and every time it's been a wonderful experience. I often recommend this spot because it offers a great space surrounded by nature and pleasantly decorated greens. It's about 10-15min away from the main town square and the taxi fare is between 15-25bs. It is a family-run business and the owners reside in the...

Altai Oasis could have been the most beautiful ecolodge. The surroundings are nice and green with the river passing close to the place - even though a barbed wire makes it impossible to reach it. There are animals for the kids to look at. The price for renting a 3 bedroom cabin is 700-750 Bs, almost the same as for...
