The Lodge is an hour up a dirt road and then across a river so you really feel like you have arrived in the Rainforest here. The rooms are individual huts, well made with all you need. The water is solar heated so do not expect hot water at 4am when you are woken up by the howler monkeys! The...

Our family of 4, with two teenagers spent 2 nights here in one of the tree houses. The tree house was lovely, clean, and bright. We loved being nestled amongst the foliage and being able to watch the howler monkeys and toucans from our porch!! The meals were delicious with fresh ingredients and the dining area was lovely and quaint....

We visited Maquenque in March and stayed for 3 nights, and every minute was magical, starting with arriving via the ferry through the excellent, efficient and extremely friendly staff. We stayed in the tree house which we can really recommend, though make sure you have a good torch as the last 100 or so metres are via an unlit track,...

Very nice lodge. Access is by boat only. Upon arrival to the parking lot, the boat came to pick us up within 5 minutes. We were greeted by the owner with fresh coconut water served in a coconut. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. The rooms were very nice and definitely clean. There was no air conditioning but we were...

Maquenque was really delightful with lovely individual bungalows, a pool and lagoon for kayaks. There were lots of activities available. You can drive there but the road is unmade and bumpy. When you arrive you are taken by ferry just across the river..thus was a bit unclear from the website. It's isolated but not as much as you imagine! The...

This Lodge is a real experience. All the staff from the guides to the restaurant go out of their way to make you feel really special . The excursions are well organised and informative. The food is quite good without being lavish. Rooms are clean, large and very typical of an Eco Lodge. This is areal asset to a wonderful...

We spent 2 unforgettable days at Maquenque. The setting is very well adapted to the nature. Little lakes, eco gardens, a fascinating forest. Julio and his sister Fatima go out of their way to advise and be helpful. Attentive staff, good food. They have bird feeding during breakfast which attracts all the species close to the deck. We had a...

We just returned from our stay at Maquenque Eco Lodge. We had a tree house which was very nice, and a very unique experience. The tree houses are only about one year old, so in very nice condition. Our house had 57 steps to get up to it. If you are afraid of heights you won't like the stairs up....

As many reviewers have noted it is quite a difficult drive up to Boca Tapada but once you cross the river on the lodge shuttle it is well worth the effort. The property occupies a very large area situated around a series of lagoons off the river and quite simply teeming with wildlife. The birding was fabulous helped by the...
