The Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe is celebrated for its clean, modern rooms and vibrant atmosphere, complete with live music and colorful decor. Guests appreciate the hotel's pet-friendly policy and the efficiency of the valet and bell staff, though some have encountered additional fees and limited parking. While the location earns high marks for its proximity to local attractions, the value perception is somewhat tarnished by the extra costs. Despite this, the hotel's overall cleanliness and engaging environment make it a noteworthy destination.

Got a chance to stay at the newly renovated margaritaville. Formerly the Lake Tahoe resort. They really did a great job refreshing the place. The rooms are all redone with new furniture and an updated bathroom. Rooms are very spacious for my family of 3.

The lounge area is redone and offers live music by the bar which was a nice treat to hear the music from your room.

We ate at the landshark restaurant and the food was reasonably priced and tasty.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful. Especially the VALET crew!!!! We stayed during a busy weekend and they worked real hard to manage everyone and get things done in an efficient and safe manner. By far the best valet experience we’ve had during our travels.

Also the free ski valet was a nice addition to the hotel and made storing our snow gear easy and kept the room cleaner.

We LOVED the new Margaritaville Tahoe. Also love that they are dog friendly. Enjoyed the live music in the lobby bar each evening. The food at the Landshark Bar and Grill was good quality and large portions. The remodeled rooms have really cute decor inside and nice wood floors in the living room area. Valet parking is underground so you car didn't end up with a bunch of snow on it. Really enjoyed ourselves. We will be back!

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It's within 2 blocks away from the Heavenly Gondola which I only discovered now. This helps reduce the stress in booking parking reservations and waking up early to get to the Heavenly site. Parking is valet only and it's underground parking. It may be a bit of a wait getting into the hotel during peak time. The entrance is the street light before Harrah's hotel. There is an indoor pool that we didn't try. The room is very spacious with a separate room for couch-sitting and a second tv. There is a bar area with its own sink and a refrigerator below. There is also a dining table with 4 chairs. Plenty of room for families to stay, bring in their equipment, let it dry. We didn't care too much about the view on the 2nd floor which was not a view at all. I'll take this room over the other pros that I've cited. Bathroom has a large sink covering end to end with two separate faucets. Pretty awesome!

Blizzard conditions forecasted for Tahoe with extreme travel adviseries and the hotel would not transfer my nights to another week.

People are being advised to not travel to the Tahoe area and warned they may be stuck there for 5 days with no power or heat if they do (I’m sure the hotel has a generator, but power outages likely in the area due to 45 mph winds and 4-6 FEET of snow)

I decided to not risk my families lives and not drive in a blizzard tomorrow for my daughter’s 20th birthday. (Leap year baby)

I asked if I could move my dates to next week after the storm passes and I would pay a fee to the hotel if needed, but since I chose the non-refundable reservation this is not allowed and I am out $600!!!!!

Make sure you pay the extra $$$ to get a refundable room.

I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel.

Outstanding location but no hot water for three days, safe was broken, no microwave unless you want to pay 25 a day. Hot tub was good. Restaurants and shops in hotel were over priced. Music in the lobby was too loud and echoed into the rooms. Great pillows and bedding but housekeeping did not clean very well. Finally got hot water. Should have been comped for those three days but they did do a huge breakfast spread that was outstanding. Our breakfast was part of our group price but I would not pay 30 bucks for breakfast.

This was our first time staying at a Margaritaville resort. This is a converted Embassy Suites. Complete remodel as rooms felt new and decor much brighter throughout resort.
Great location right on Lake Tahoe Blvd. Many attractions, restaurants, casinos and shops less than a 5-minute walk away. Resort has an indoor pool but also an outside terrace for those wanting to work on tan. Landmark Bar and Grill is a casual restaurant with seating inside, outside or at bar which also has outside and inside seating. Wide variety of menu items for all tastes.
JWB Prime Steak and Seafood is more upscale and a little pricey. Food was very good and make friends with Ann at the bar.
There is a License to Chill Bar in the atrium with live music at night. It is not open every day.
They offer a breakfast buffet Wednesday thru Sunday that was very good. It was open 7 to 11 when we were there.
There is also a small shop open during the day for coffee, smoothies and snacks.
Everyone we met (except one) who worked at hotel was very friendly and made you feel welcome. Only person was front desk worker who when asked about recommendation for spa services just said Google it. We were very impressed with the bartenders we met as all were attentive and had great sense of humors.
Parking is valet only.
Prices for rooms was reasonable considering all rooms are suites.
I believe there are only a few rooms with views of the lake.
We had a great time during our 5 nights there and will definitely go back.

The hotel has been renovated nicely. It used to be an old embassy suites. The rooms are actually suites and have a separate room with a couch, not a sofa bed. There was only one person working at the counter and always a long line checking in. When I reserved the room two months prior there was no mention of valet parking. This added about an additional $50 per day with tipping if you use your car 2 to 3 times per day. There is no mention of valet parking or a daily valet charge , even on their own website, when you book a room. This is also a dog friendly hotel except my wife and kids are all allergic to dogs. They do not have differentiate non-pet from pet friendly rooms. Our room was fine but it could be a problem. There was supposed to be a $35/day resort charge but it is $40/day. The location is convenient to the casinos and ski lift.

Good, clean, modern hotel. Much nicer than Harrahs which we stayed at last time (so gross!). We loved the suite where we could close the bedroom off. This is also a great hotel for families because of this. Very lively scene and I would stay again if going back to South Lake.

We didn’t try the food or drinks, but heard good things. The staff was all friendly.

The negatives:

- House keeping never came. We were only there for a weekend but left at 8am Saturday to go to a soccer game and came back at 1pm to no cleaning. Left again at 3pm and they still never came. Frustrating when you are paying $350 a night on a busy weekend.

- Valet is the only parking option. Tipping the valet every time you get your car gets expensive. It’s not a nice enough place to only offer valet (IMO)

I stayed here MDW with my 2 toddlers and my husband. We wanted something family friendly, near Stateline that wouldn't break the bank. Check in was a little disappointing as they said my room was ready but it would be an additional $50. I declined but I was able to get my keys by 1pm regardless. Upon entering the hotel room I was VERY impressed. Room was much more modernized than the Embassy Suites/LT Resort. My only complaint is the AC. It was 58 degrees outside and our air never worked in both our room and our friend's room. Can't imagine how bad it would've been if it was warm outside. The pool hours are the best i've seen at any hotel. I think it is 7am-Midnight! There is live music and games in the lobby, great dining options, fun lobby bars, etc. but it comes at a price. The resort fee and parking (both mandatory) will set you back almost $80 A DAY. So while the room rate was pretty reasonable, the parking and resort fees are the highest I've seen in Tahoe especially when most casinos comp the parking with your players card. Not a deal breaker but something you should know prior to your visit. Skip the breakfast buffet (gross) and go to the Landshark Restaurant for lunch or dinner instead.

Not only do you pay a $35 resort fee, they charge a $30 valet fee, not negotiable. I don't even want someone else driving my car, just let me park my car normally. automatic 1 star for ridiculous fees.
