I stayed at The Whyte Harte for 5 nights, and it wasn't the best experience (but wasn't the worst). I would highly recommend the food - it really was quality food and quite affordable. I ate here almost every night and every morning, the food never failed to please. Unfortunately, the accommodation requires some improvements. I didn't sleep once throughout...

Poor service, poor food, poor value Dinner for six and food was terrible Pork belly burnt to a crisp, Surf & Turf with steak and 5 prawns, ordered Chicken and got Cod, sent back and correct meal arrived as we all finished but was inedible. So bad that we got 50 percent off Bill But won't return as this Pub...

Hotel was convenient for our needs due to its locality and being dog friendly. Downside was the overall sad decoration in the hotel area. Room clean on surface but could do with a deep clean and tlc especially in the bathroom. Radiator hanging off wall for example. Positives are the staff and a good English breakfast.

Run (I think - at the time) by a quirky American chap, this would have been a slating but for his honest and open demeanor. The place needs a lot of money spending on it. Very basic accommodation, facilities but clean and I slept well. The expression says "you pays your money and takes your choice". Caviat Emptor.

It's hard to believe this pub is that old, I believe it was built in 1633! Food was great and the room comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful with any directions you needed. My only complaint is that the draught beer wasn't "Canadian" cold...lol!

The Hotel is a lovely old building, but is in need of some tlc in the bedrooms. However the bedding and toilet were immaculate, really clean. Our room was very specious, however our relatives room was very compact, more suitable as a single room. New Manager has recently taken over, hopefully he will do some decorating and reconfiguration of the...

The people (staff) make this hotel acceptable. The good points. Food is good pub/small hotel fare and the cellar well kept (Green king IPA and London Pride). All staff very helpful, accommodating and cheerful and this was really notable as we prepared for a wedding - stressful at times. On the downside the rooms (on the small side) and corridors...

We used to come here all the time, as it's a lovely inn (and still is). It would appear there are new owners and it was felt as soon as we walked in...... It was empty. The food was absolutely disgusting, whomever the cook is, replace him. However I think we saw the cook who looked about 16 and sat...

I came to the pub for dinner (2 couples over 40) tonight (Sat 20th). Lovely friendly welcome, nice staff. I love the look of this inn, lovely history, in a beautiful village. Quirky beamed pub with a great fireplace in the winter. I have been here over the years and it seems to struggle to find its niche. In the...
