We expected far more but were rather disappointed. The building is lovely, the public areas nice but the rooms fall far short of what we expect at this price in this area. We booked a suite for 2 nights at a cost of around £700, mis-matched oddly laid out furniture, a small sofa and armchair so uncomfortable the living area...

There are so many nice things about this hotel - the building, the location, the food and some enthusiastic young staff, we could have forgiven the series of mis-haps and disspointments we suffered.... if it wasnt for the arrogant and un-caring management. Some bedrooms suffer from a droning fan noise - My suggestion is to stipulate when booking that you...

Idyllic, opulent decadence. The staff are superb - attentive at all times without being intrusive. One could spend days strolling around the grounds absorbing the wonderful, tranquil surroundings set against a backdrop of the Black Mountains - it's even fabulous when it's raining!. Recommend a chat with the friendly gardening staff (Apologies, I didn't get your name!) who grow amazing varieties...

Absolutely loved this place ... From the service, state room & food all was wonderful. The ambience is second to none if you like attentive but not intrusive service. The food is exceptional & it's a lovely touch as the chef uses produce from the hotels garden including eggs from their ducks & hens. The gardens are restful & very...

My sister and I have just returned from an idyllic stay at Llangoed Hall. The ambience is one of beauty and tranquility. The service friendly and attentive, yet never fussing. The are grounds heavenly...we loved the wildflower meadow created especially for the bees. We bought a few jars of the Llanoged Hall honey, and it is quite the best we've...

hidden in a very quiet area in Wales, this hall is a paradise. It has stairs, rooms in style, corridors, mirrors, halls, a piano, a maze. at night, you might think that ghosts come to visit. it is so british

Llangoed Hall is a fine country house in the Usk valley. We stayed there for one night in July – this review is delayed by much travelling since. On arrival in the large entrance hall we were met by silence. No hint of any staff, no suggestion as to where reception might be. Not very welcoming. Having found a receiving...

Beautiful location, great view and wonderful grounds. Very posh hotel with dress code for the restaurant. Period buildings, nicely furnished. Very good breakfast. Cleanliness and attention to detail from housekeeping was very disappointing though. There was no soap in the room when we arrived, so we rang down and asked for soap. We discovered there was a charge for the...

Don't be fooled by the bargain price of the rooms (we paid less than £50 each per night), this is a top quality hotel. We stayed in the Petit North wing and loved it. All the staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The decoration and bathroom were immaculate, only slight gripe was lack of water pressure through the shower, could...
