We stopped here on our way home, to have a drink. There was only 2 other people in the pub as we approached the bar. It was coming upto 5.30pm. We brought our drinks and sat out the front of the pub. It appeared to be on a reasonable busy road, yet the pub remained relatively empty. There was no...

We were travelling from Winchester to Pevensey and stopped here en route. The bar attendant was very pleasant and the car park a good size and easy to access behind the pub. I used the disabled/nappy changing loo which is very well kept and found that although there is a basin within the large cubicle, there is no method for...

Its a shame the Bull isn't busier, I feel it suffers a bit from a small village with 3 competing pubs. Please visit the Bull, its a traditional English pub, that hasn't suffered the grotty style of chain pubs, we nerd to keep the traditional! Ok so it could do with a little sprucing up, especially outside but its well...

We found The Bull quite by chance on our way from Gatwick, we stopped off for a bite to eat and we had a very good Fish & Chips. The bar is lovely old style, wooden beams and low ceiling. The young man behind the bar was very friendly. Also, the ladies toilet was especially good as it had a...

Visited the Bull last summer and while not completely disappointed we were not over impressed, however we called in on our way to an important appointment and hoped for the best. We feel so lucky that we had a second visit to the Bull because since we last called the management and staff have changed and it was quite a...

This is a really lovely old pub, sizable but cosy and appears to major on food with accommodation out the back converted from old buildings. We were in a small low level room (Room 1) to the side of the main block. It was small, but nicely finished with plenty of room for clothes. The bed was low and not...

7 of us set out to walk to this pub from a campsite a couple of miles away on a warm sunny day, mostly wearing tee-shorts and sandals. After about a mile in a massive storm blasted in, with absolutely torrential rain. We gave up trying to shelter and walked on, getting literally soaked to the skin. We looked like...

We just needed a clean and tidy room for the night while we went to an attraction nearby. On the face of it that's what we got - until we went to bed later. The bed was completely broken on one side and despite our best attempts to fix it we still had an awful nights sleep. Worse still, when...

My wife and I stayed here just for a single night, after attending a Murder Mystery evening on the nearby Bluebell Railway. The room we stayed in (room 7) was clean, and perfectly adequate for our needs, with tea and coffee supplied in the room, a TV, and a shower. The £8 cost for breakfast in the morning was a...

A lovely old country pub ideally situated in a picturesque village in the heart of East Sussex, right on the A272. Under new management as of the beginning of April, we have recently undergone a refurbishment and have also taken on a new Head Chef. Serving a new, re-vamped menu and a large selection of fine wines and ales makes us a great stopping place for any occasion. In addition we have eight rooms, all equipped everything you need for a comfortable and peaceful night's rest should you find it hard to leave at the end of the night! ... more   less
