The hotel will not cater for children under 12 and as a result would not accomodate us and our 11 year old child. No explanation given for that policy, which I find pretty discriminatory and frankly sad.

We booked a 3 night stay at the end of February, following the recommendation of a friend who has stayed there a number of times. We were not disappointed. A superb room in the old hall, good dinners and breakfasts - even sandwiches provided for a packed lunch included in the price, if needed. On the Dinner B&B tariff there...

A much needed break was required, by luck we stumbled on this gem. My Wife and I along with a very active dog, stayed for 3 nights in this Peak District Paradise. From the moment we checked in we were made welcome. We stayed in room 11 and found it to be spotless, and well appointed. The room was large...

We have not stayed in this hotel, so I cannot say what the rooms may be like, but we have eaten here three times. Each time was for a family occasion ie, birthday celebrations, family reunions etc. On the first two occasions the food was really lovely home cooked food, but I am afraid today, although the food was pleasant,(main...

I do apologise for the mistake on your bill, and am glad to hear that this was corrected before you paid. All bills are itemised in detail so that they can be checked. I understand that pricing mistakes can happen because there is no button on the till for children’s portions so that the price has to be manually over-ridden...

Stayed here for two nights as a result of a Christmas gift. on arrival the setting promised great things and did not disappoint. Welcome was friendly and we were shown to a lovely room with both comfortable bed and sitting areas. The hotel has a lounge and library room that are furnished comfortably traditional and attractively which were arranged to...

Booked a two night weekend stay in the main hotel building. This is a collection of old buildings, dog friendly rooms are in the annexes. The staff were unfailingly helpful and attentive and our room was a good size with an excellent, recently upgraded bathroom. The upgrade has caused a lack of wardrobe space (as one visitor was heard to...

Took my wife for lunch on Valentines day, hoping for a nice meal in lovely surroundings. Okk the building look promising from the outside and thats where it ended, we were told to sit in the lounge which had sofa and chairs arranged like a good quality residential home all around the permimeter of the room and in rows back...

I am sorry you had a disappointing Valentine’s day and have to say that your description of Biggin Hall is not one that I – or others – recognise.

Nice old buildings in a quiet village. We were in a dog-friendly room in the lodge - with 2 giant pigs in a muddy field next door (well, it is the country!). Traditional B&B style, comfortable but dated and a bit frayed around the edges. Fine for muddy boots and long walks. A roaring fireplace in the main house.

This is a lovely hotel with the added bonus of some dog friendly rooms. Surrounded by lovely walks. Our room was very nice, a lovely modern bathroom and also a fridge so we could have fresh milk. We didn't have dinner as dogs are not allowed in the public rooms. But there is a very good pub next door if you...
