Ideal location for an extended family gathering. Lots of comfortable rooms, cosy lounge area, delicious food and welcoming and helpful staff. Great base for walking and has a friendly local pub with pool table only 2 mins walk away.

We stayed here on a B&B basis. The room was extremely comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good. The hall has a great atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again. Next time we would book an evening meal.

Our third stay and the only disappointment for me, was no snow, but this pleased my wife! This hotel is perfect for us, informal, friendly and top quality food, wine and accommodation. There are a variety of room types, some in the main building and some in the outbuildings. We visited with my brother and wife, who've stayed many times....

Stayed 3 nights for New Year. Lovely food, relaxing rooms to sit and enjoy cards, games and a drink. Beautiful log fire and cosy surroundings to enjoy after a walk. The house is set in beautiful grounds and very dog friendly.

The room was warm and cosy with good facilities and very comfortable beds. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food excellent with a...

We chose this venue to meet up with friends for an evening meal after hearing good reviews. We booked the four poster room with evening meal and breakfast. On arrival - it's an absolutely wonderful setting if you want a quiet place - we checked in at the reception and were shown up to our room. We were both really...

Booked a one night stay at short notice, ignore the few negative reviews, its a bit quirky but great. A small country hotel, very relaxed with pigs and a sculpture trail, who could need more! A very friendly welcome, we were in a double room in a house about 50m away. Well furnished and decorated, a great size and as...

The hotel is set in a quiet White Peak village with excellent access to some wonderful walks along the Tissington Trail and Biggin Dale and close to Dovedale and Hartington. We recently stayed for two nights together with our two (retired ex-guide) dogs. Our room was spacious and well furnished with two easy chairs, a very large bed, plenty of...

What a little treasure! Perfectly sized, friendly staff, lovely food and convenient for visiting some lovely places in the Peak District. My husband and I booked a few nights away for our anniversary and planned to do some walking. The hotel struck the perfect balance between indulgence and informality - everyone, guests included - was chatty and welcoming. Our package...
