Our friends and family have all stayed at Copperstone Resort many times and it is always fabulous! Kat was very helpful with so many things and we ask for her when we needed to book other nights. She always is very thorough at making sure everyone is behaving in the hot tub and made sure there was no glass around. It is great in the event there are kids around! Copperstone has so many advantages, as an option only a few minutes outside of Canmore. The outdoor firepitt& bbq's are great, the kitchen and bathroom are amazing! The views are wonderful! And it is also pet friendly!

Thanks Copperstone and Kat! Trish :)

My experience started off wonderful after calling in and speaking with Jason. After finding out we were travelling with 2 our boys (aged 8 & 10) he upgraded us to a one bedroom with den (which has bunk beds) for no additional fee. Loved the room, nobody told us their was no house keeping due to COVID but we didn’t mind. Staff were more than accommodating for anything we needed. Great location, beautiful grounds with the most amazing stream just behind the resort if you happen to bring a furry friend. Definitely will be back!

A great option if you aren't planning on spending a lot of time in the parks.

The hotel itself is in Dead Man's Flats which I somehow missed when I booked. But Canmore is about 10 min away so not too far out unless you plan to go to Banff/Lake Louise daily, then its a bit of a trek. Lake Minnewanka is about an hour away.

We found it to be quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a 2 bedroom and main floor is very spacious. We did find it tight in the kitchen - one person can't be at the sink and another at the stove. We found the sofa to be uncomfortable to sit on. Not sure its comfort level for sleeping. 6 people would fit in this unit comfortably.

I found the bed too firm but my mom liked the firmness. Each bedroom in the 2 bed has a bathroom (Master ensuite) and they're spacious. Bathroom amenities smell amazing.

Having a full kitchen was great. I wish there was an itemized list of kitchen amenities available online, but hotel was quick to reply when I emailed and asked so my family could meal plan.

Each room has a patio or balcony which is nice. Mosquitoes were bad so bring spray during the spring/summer.

I don't think a mountain view upgrade is worth it here for $40/night. We were upgraded and we had to lean over the rail of our balcony and look behind us to see mountain. So that would not have been worth the extra money to us, not like a hotel in Canmore where you might get an uninterrupted view of the Three Sisters.

Overall it was a great stay. We'd definitely consider staying again if the price worked for us - the hotel had a great promo on when we booked. We'd probably never have considered it at full price.

Overall, I would recommend if you're looking for full kitchen for 2 to 6 people in the mountains without need to be closer to Banff or Lake Louise.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review! We appreciate all feedback and are so happy to hear you enjoyed our amenities during your get away with Copperstone. I am sorry to hear that your complementary upgrade to a larger unit was not a mountain view, however I am glad to hear you enjoyed the larger unit with two bathrooms. Had we been informed that you would have gladly paid for a secured mountain view, we would have ensured one was assigned to you. Please ensure when booking your future trip with Copperstone, to mention a mountain view, so we can try to assign you to one of our mountain view suites. Thank you, Monica Derzaph, Guest Service Manager

We're currently staying at Copperstone Resort on day 3 of a 6 day stay. This is the first time staying here and decided to book a stay based on all the positive and good reviews on Trip advisor. The staff are friendly and the room we're staying in is a one bed room. We like that there's a full kitchen and pull out bed in the living room. We also like there's underground parking.

We're not really happy with the view we have from our room which faces the road and then watching the cars speed down the road as well as constantly watching people park and checking in.

The cleanliness of the room I thought was alright but then after being here for a few days, noticed that there's dog fur throughout the whole place. We don't own a dog and this place is dog friendly but didn't realize that this would be something that would be an issue for us until we found dog fur on our clothes, on the couch and in the kitchen.

The dishwasher is terrible, super loud and doesn't really clean well and we found dirty dishes when we arrived in the cupboard.

The hot water in the shower comes in spurts, it gets really hot for about a few seconds and it does this throughout while having a shower so we have to adjust the water temperature constantly.

The t.v. remote in the bedroom was missing and they are apparently going to replace it but it's day 3 of our 6 day stay. And you have to visit the office often to get garbage bags, dishwasher tabs and toilet paper because they provide you enough for only a couple of days.

Lastly, they have their outdoor hot tub opened but you can only book for 15 mins the day of. The staff said that you have to line up at 8am at the office to book. They told us that it gets fully booked so it's best to line up at 8am with the other guest to book. Not sure if we're going to do this as this seems like a hassle for only 15 mins of time in the hot tub. It would be great if they offered one 15 min time for each guest/room during their stay as people prob booked more than once.

Overall, I am kind of disappointed with our stay. It would be interesting to see the other rooms and see what kind of view they offer and how clean the room is.

Thank you so much for staying with us and for leaving feedback. Please do reach out when you are in the area next, we would be happy to look at a condo in another building in the resort complex and provide a discount on your next stay. We have taken your feedback to our Housekeeping and Maintenance Team to address the items listed. We do work within the framework provided for the resort amenities (Hot Tub) and with 99 units, the 15m time slots is what works best with Copperstone having just one hot tub, we hope that as regulations ease that we will be able to add more time and allow more than 1 cohort to use the hot tub at time.

We pick this location for it's dog friendly policy and the ability to go for walks in nature just out the door. Check in is simple and the booking was facilitated by a friendly staff member who got us a better price than I could find online. As always, a good experience.

I have been staying at the Copperstone Resort for a number of years now and I have never been disappointed! My most recent stay was mid January 2021.

The front desk staff was awesome finding me the best stay package for my needs, confirming everything in advance, recommending hikes and things to see and do, and they were always there to answer my questions. I love that they are pet friendly and my dog was treated to a Mut Hut Pet Emporium Cookie upon arrival! I know it’s not always possible but they were able to accommodate my request for a courtyard facing room and a late checkout PLUS I got a room upgrade!

These Suites are great because they have full kitchens plus an island/eating bar with stools so my partner and I could hangout and work at making meals or enjoy a drink together; they have in suite laundry if you need it; the fireplaces add coziness and ambience; nice having TV’s in both the living area and the bedroom; and the Resort is close to Canmore if you want/need anything but being in Deadman’s Flats is quieter, more relaxing, peaceful and serene.

Our room was clean, in good repair, and had all the kitchenware we needed. We often came across or saw staff cleaning inside and throughout the courtyard and underground parking area.

With Covid the Outdoor Firepit/Sitting Area, BBQ’s and Hot Tub were closed which was disappointing but no fault of the resort. The resort was making every effort to adhere to the Government regulations and recommendations.

They really exceeded all of my expectations!

We found this place on air Bnb and really lucked out. We live in Florida and needed to escape the tropical climate for the exact opposite. The accommodations were lovely. We truly enjoyed the cold weather and they even had a hot tub! We had a late night in the hot tub and the front desk girl Kat came to check on us which was so sweet. She chatted us up and we told her we were visiting from Florida and didn’t bring enough cold weather clothes. She went out of her way to bring us some laundry detergent since we weren’t even aware we had the amenities in our room. To me that says she has heart and really loves her job. We can’t wait to come back. Maybe next time in the summer!!

While on our Banff vacation and staying at the Copperstone Resort, my wife and I found ourselves wanting to extend our stay for an additional night, but unfortunately no units were available. Kat really went the distance for us. Through considerable effort, she found us a great hotel in the chain, in Canmore. The room was more than double what we paid at the Copperstone, but she was able to negotiate the same price as the Copperstone. And what a great stay it proved to be! Thanks to Kat and the staff at the Copperstone. What really made this hotel stand out was all of the outstanding staff who were more than willing to help book excursions, advise best times to go to an attraction, and restaurant recommendations.

If you are looking for a vacation property feel but with a low budget I highly suggest Copperstone. Plus if you are wanting to stay in a place that is less touristy than Canmore, only 7 min drive away is Dead Mans Flats. Fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher) and washer and dryer make packing lite and simple. Save money by cooking your own meals and bring along while you explore, gives you more time to be outdoors. All great things to say about the accommodation- clean, comfy, friendly staff. Best part is we can bring our hiking buddy - our dog!
Will definitely be returning!

This hotel is a gem! I have driven past Dead Man's Flats for years and always stay in Canmore or Banff but this location only 6 minutes from Canmore was so quiet and so relaxing, and is serviced by Three Sisters cab company. The hotel suites are huge, clean, full kitchen, in room washer/dryer, balcony with table and chairs, underground parking, etc. There is a large outdoor hottub, BBQ, and fire pit for all to use. All the staff were just absolutely wonderful folks. Kudos to Kat who ensured we had everything we needed for our stay and your great sense of humour! Donna thank you for all the information when we reserved it was exactly as you told me. We ended up not bringing our dog but they had everything ready for our pet (I will keep that a surprise but a great surprise). You can walk to the river for snowshoeing, hiking, etc. Only 1 hour from Calgary for peace and relaxation. We will definately be back and for those of you looking for a quiet get away with family and pets Copperstone is the place.

Well if by this you mean the area, yes a wonderful spot, visually breathtaking. Now if by this you mean the accommodation, it would be by my standards. The inside is very nice. But the place is out of the way from Canmore and Banff. You'll negotiate a better price because of that but will have to drive in when you need to for supplies. Given its your honeymoon the inside is quite nice, with fireplace, full kitchen, comfy bed. We were on the ground floor and BROUGHT a portable BBQ with us to use and used the outside patio every day. They may have higher end units in the building also but ours was very good and I would go there again without any reservation. Hope this helps.
