This is not the Ritz but it was just what we needed on the South Downs Way. The employees were extremely friendly and the room was more than adequate. A true 'pub' b&b. The bed was comfortable and there was room to walk around which was very welcome.

On booking for a twin room I was advised of the price of £60, I paid immediately, when contacting the pub, they kept quoting me " Oh, Yes, you have booked a single!" " No, I kept replying, I originally requested a double for myself and my wife, and I was told that there was only a twin room available."... More

Overall experience was great. Lovely country pub. Good food. Nice friendly service. We were walking and muddy and they were very welcoming. Good standard room. Comfy. All facilities you would expect. Drains in bathroom could do with attention. A little noisy as on a main road and near the train line. Blackout curtains would be a good improvement. Good walking... More

Bedroom was small. We had a twin which we pushed together to make more room. The mattresses were not comfortable with not much padding covering the the springs. Meals were great. Good selection. Good portions and reasonable prices. Staff were excellent.

There were six of us that met up here for lunch on Sunday. We decided to eat in the garden as it was a lovely sunny day. The food and service was very good and no doubt we will return here again. I would recommend the ploughman's with Brie and ham,it was very nice. The only thing missing was sliced... More

This Inn is ideally placed for walkers/cyclists etc setting out on the Sussex downs. We cycled to Easbourne from here and took the train back (you can get a cab from the station nearby if you wish). Had a delicious liver and mash. My mate had the fish pie and said it was good. Lovely walk down a nearby lane... More

Attentive and friendly service. Good selection of Ales and great Pimms. Lovely garden on Sunny days!😜🌝 Good mix of people from families to couples and dog friendly. So popular with locals so booking is advisable. Now to the food. Have never been disappointed here. Great ingredients- he prides himself on knowing the source of his food and the Sunday roasts... Stayed for a couple of nights whilst my husband went on a GPS course nearby and I went shopping in Brighton. The Inn is well placed for both activities and would also make a great stop over point for anyone doing the South Downs Way. The food, both breakfasts and evening meals was excellent - well presented with a good... More

Apparently it's changed hands. Food is still great, plenty of veg with roast. Kids chicken nuggets brilliant, kids sausage and mash a bit small. Friendly staff and good sized play area outside. Worth a visit.
