The last time I was here was a decade ago for a conference. This time, however, I actually stayed the night. A bit of context: The grandparents and I made our way from downtown Vancouver to YVR’s south terminal at 7AM to catch our 8AM flight on Pacific Coastal. We were delayed numerous times, we were told, due to weather, but finally boarded our aircraft at 1PM. About 20 minutes into our flight, the captain came on and advised we’d be turning back to Vancouver due to a problem with de-icing equipment. We landed just before 2PM and were told to wait at the terminal “in case” the mechanical issue could be resolved and we could then resume our journey. Fast-forward another hour and a half. Pacific Coastal formally cancelled the flight, but advised that we’d be housed in a hotel until new flight arrangements could be made. Thus, we boarded a shuttle for the Sheraton Vancouver Airport.
Despite the sudden influx of people from the cancelled flight, the front desk staff handled everything quite well. We were given a room on the second floor with 2 Queen Beds. Entering the room, I thought it looked quite nice, albeit dated with the brown carpeting, brown walls and mostly brown furniture. Clearly this wasn’t one of the renovated rooms, but Pacific Coastal was covering the bill, so who am I to complain? The room was clean, cozy and contained all of the modern amenities we’ve come to expect: Flat screen TV, free WiFi, mini fridge (didn’t work), work desk, charging ports, and quality bathroom amenities. Importantly, the bed was comfortable, but verged on being a little too stiff for my liking.
In terms of amenities, the Sheraton features the aforementioned conference centre, exercise facilities, business centre, and eateries in the form of Starbucks and Harold’s Kitchen. The Starbucks was full service and a convenient option (see my earlier review on this site). Harold’s Kitchen was fine – typical hotel fare – but is a popular place (see my earlier review). Of course, if you wish to venture elsewhere, the Sheraton is in an ideal location: The acclaimed 75 West Coast Grill is practically next door; Richmond Centre is a few minutes’ walk away; and, ditto for the CanadaLine. As such, you’re never too far away from all the action.
One area I’d like to highlight: The staff at this hotel are exceptional. I had some perishable cargo that required cold storage and, as mentioned, our fridge wasn’t working in the room. The staff graciously took my package and stored it in the hotel refrigerator overnight, ensuring it wouldn’t spoil. This was definitely appreciated and contributed to our positive, unplanned stay! Thank you!

I stayed here for one night on a points redemption stay in November, as I had a very early morning flight out of YVR the next morning. The hotel shares a parking lot with the Marriott, and is in the same group of buildings as Marriott and Hilton. Likely owned By the same franchisee, as they also share a shuttle.
Check in was super efficient, and I found out I had been upgraded to a newly renovated suite. Andrea at check in on was kind, and a great ambassador for the hotel. Due to the club lounge being limited still, I was given a voucher for breakfast in the restaurant in the morning, and appetizer and drink that evening. When I asked if I could get points instead of breakfast, since my flight was so early, I was told not only would they be happy To give me points, but they doubled my appetizer and drinks to two! Sandra in the restaurant was a great server, happy and accommodating.
The room itself was a suite, and was quite spacious, and newly renovated. The room is spilt down the middle by a wall with the living area on the right and the bedroom on the left. It had a decent sized balcony, lots of sitting areas with two TVs, a large wardrobe area and a large shower. The bathroom was a little bit on the small side. The bed was very comfortable, and other than very close sirens at one point, it was very quiet.
Airport shuttle was punctual and got me to YVR very quickly. A really nice option to use.
All in all I was very impressed. As is common with a lot of Sheratons, some of the common areas (hall way carpet, walls) are showing some decent wear, but the room was clean large and new, and the customer service was superb. I will stay again if I need a YVR transit hotel.

Despite its dated exterior, Sheraton Vancouver Airport hotel is a great airport hotel with a reliable airport shuttle (shared with Hilton and Marriott, and ran twice hourly but not 24 hours... please call front desk for exact hours), spacious rooms, a 24 hours fitness center, great indoor restaurants, excellent service, and convenient location. You can really have access to a great amount of Asian and Western restaurants within a fifteen minutes walking block. CF Richmond shopping mall is within walking distance too, not to mention access to Vancouver's SkyTrain station. I was here for two short one night stays and I was upgraded to a junior suite on my second stay. The service was what impressed me the most. All the staffs went out of their ways to make sure every guest is well take care of. On my first stay, the airport shuttle left a few minutes early and the receptionist immediately called a taxi and gave me a free coupon to the airport. I did not even need to ask. She was apologetic for the early departure of the shuttle, as she saw me waiting at the lobby. I will not hesitate to stay here again in the future.
BTW, baggage storage is available at the hotel for return guests, and costs CAD$3 per piece per night.

We were here for the Hearties Reunion and chose to stay here for the entire duration of the trip. It is close to the airport and they have a shuttle service there. Miguel was fantastic with checkin. The room was spotless and whenever we needed anything, they were quick to attend to it. Day at the Starbucks was wonderful. The workers were quick and I have never had such great service at any Starbucks. The hotel is located a short walk from the transit and we were able to head into Vancouver with great ease. The restaurant in the hotel was great. The food was excellent as well as the service. I would definitely stay here again.

This was the hotel of choice for a cruise tour group. The room was comfortable and clean. They are not doing daily room cleaning unless specifically requested but a housekeeping response is responded to quickly. There is a very large mall within walking distance as are many Asian restaurants and markets. The Richmond area is about 70% of Asian descent and is well known for excellent food.

We stayed here for a night in Feb, in the North Tower room 355 as a family. We have passed this hotel many times to know it's an older hotel and a staple of Richmond but just never had a chance to stay. It's definitely a more business/convention clientele hotel. The weekend we were there they were hosting a power lifting convention and hotel was completely sold out. The front desk was a hit or miss. Because our rooms weren't ready when we first arrived, we had to go to the front desk multiple times, and the experiences ranged from staff being aloof to being barely business courteous. The lobby area was large and has a restaurant and Starbucks connected which was convenient. Overnight parking was $21 which was pretty standard here in Richmond and parking seems aplenty. The hallways were dark and one of the tower elevators was broken the whole time we were there and for the only other elevator, the door sometimes wouldn't open all the way - not exactly comforting. The fitness room was relatively large with both cardio machines, and small free weights section.
As for the room, it was definitely a bit weathered and dated. There were no USB plugs, and while the bathroom was larger, the door lock was broken. It did have a balcony, safe, and what surprised me, was a microwave. I called the front desk to see if they had slippers for in room use, but they were charging $5 a pair - hmm no thanks. The beds were comfortable but our room was close to the elevator so with the convention folks, it was pretty loud.

The hotel was in the midst of a labour dispute of which I was not advised at the time of booking. I was notified via email a day or two before scheduled arrival, advising they had moved my reservation to a “sister property”. I was offered the opportunity to accept the transfer or cancel with no penalty, but with such short notice we really had no choice. I have stayed at this Sheraton Hotel numerous times, and know it is usually very busy, and charge top dolllar for their rooms, so I cannot understand why they can’t pay their workers a fair wage. I’m very disappointed to see this happening and am questioning my choice hotel in Richmond.

Spent a short trip here with family, booking a total of 3 rooms. Though the property is visibly aged, the stay was particularly comfortable thanks to the warm assistance from Michelle and Vivian. They made sure that all questions were answered efficiently and problems were solved in a timely manner.
Parking on property is quite convenient, considering there are multiple points of entry.
It is unfortunate that I did not get to experience the Club Lounge due to unforeseen circumstances, but the breakfast arrangement at the Main Restaurant in the lobby was a fine touch and quite enjoyable.

Pros: Location - very convenient Friendly staff Free airport shuttle; drivers are very friendly
Cons: Dated property Thin walls/door, but didn’t hear much traffic noice. Spacious gym. Spacious public common areas.
Other: We enjoyed the swimming pool; old and not big but clean. It’s very relaxing and we forgot we were in the busy Richmond area. We were told there’s only one housekeeping staff one night, but we didn’t feel lack of service. No bathtub. Club lounge is still closed - vouchers for breakfast and appetizers were provided. Starbucks in the lobby, but seems unable to redeem Starbucks rewards by points?

Initially we booked to stay at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel for 4 nights at the beginning of January. Other matters kept us in town for an additional 4 nights, so we extended our stay here. We were very pleased with this hotel. Our room had an updated, modern bathroom with plenty of plush towels and an invigorating rain shower. The bed, sitting area and desk area were well-appointed and comfortable. The room was kept very clean by Housekeeping. Any request we had for additional towels, amenities, coffee mugs, spoons, umbrellas etc. was met. Staff was friendly and professional. I visited the Gym on 3 occasions. It had an array of fitness equipment and plenty of space available for a workout. Location of the Sheraton is great - it is near the airport, CF Richmond Centre, Sky Train, Minarou Park and many restaurants and shops nearby within easy walking distance.

I would call the hotel and ask, but I can verify that the club lounge is lovely, comfortable, well stocked with snacks & bottled water, and the views outside the window were very nice. It was one of the best perks of this hotel.
i think it depends on whether rooms are cleaned and available. We had them hold our luggage while we went to early dinner and then got in. We were with a group so lots of folks were cycling thorough that week.
There are more places to choose from in the Richmond area.
