It has been many years since we've stayed at this hotel. This was another weekend trip up to Richmond. Not much of the hotel lobby has changed much, nor its availability of outside parking and covered parking, both require daily fee but
the outside parking is convenient for those with cargo boxes etc. Front staff was friendly and they allowed us to move to a higher floor upon request - originally was on 3rd floor but moved up to the 11th floor, room 1102, a junior suite.

Regarding the room itself, I was glad to see the room was updated with usb outlets and seems refreshed. The room had 2 queens along with a sofa bed, so affords quite a lot of sleeping space. The setup though, was quite odd. The bathroom was in between the living room and the bedroom and if someone was in the bathroom with both sides doors closed, those that were in the bedroom side were stuck there. We stayed in the same type of room years ago but with smaller children wasn't as big of a deal. with older kids now, this was quite inconvenient. Also, the vacant upstairs room had its alarm clock go off at midnight and woke us up and took front desk about 15 minutes to find the room and turn off.

Couple things regarding the facilities - they do not provide slippers for the room. The pool was outside and is heated but not nearly enough to be used on a windy April night. The gym was adequate - space not big but they were efficiently equipped with ample cardio machines, an universal machine and couple benches with free weights.

Modern, large rooms in an adequate location for the airport. Staff on check in could have been more personable and throughout stay did not feel welcoming. Cleanliness was to standard with well appointed amenities, however the majority of the USB ports within the room were broken and unusable. In modern times these should be replaced like any other broken furniture.

My friend and I had booked a room with two beds, but when we arrived early, they let us know it wouldn’t be available for another two hours. Since we needed to shower and head out to meet people, they offered an upgrade to a Junior Room for $35. The new room had a living room and bedroom, with a shower room in between accessible by two sliding doors (though they didn’t have locks). Overall, the room was very clean and comfortable.

This hotel did not meet the Marriott standards I have come to expect. As a Lifetime Platinum Elite member with over 10 years of experience staying at Marriott properties, I was deeply disappointed with my experience at this location.

As a Titanium Elite member this year, I have the privilege of using the member club lounge. However, during my visit, the operations manager approached me without any greeting and abruptly asked for my room number. I felt mistreated and racially profiled as an Asian person, especially since no other customers in the lounge were questioned. I promptly provided my room number, 606, and showed my Bonvoy status on my phone.

The operations manager then insisted on discussing the lounge's policy, which allows only one guest. I was traveling with my wife and 12-year-old son, making us a total of three people. I explained that my son is a minor, but the manager said it didn't matter and there would be additional charges for extra persons. When I asked for the amount, the manager simply stated there would be an additional charge, without specifying.
Dissatisfied with this interaction, I tried to get the manager's name. When I attempted to take a picture of the manager's name tag, the manager told me not to touch her. She mistook me and I didn't see any chance of making the situation better through communication with her.

Overall, the approach and attitude of the operations manager were disappointing and not in line with the Marriott experience I have come to expect.

I have contacted Marriott Bonvoy customer service to address this incident, but they have not resolved the issue. After more than 10 years as a loyal Marriott customer, I feel very disrespected and am considering other hotel options.

We stayed here one night. Weird room set up. At check in staff were pleasant. Service at lunch was good. Food was below standard as nachos were cold. Cold cheese is gross. We used Mastercard vouchers provided by WestJet. Went down to same establishment for drinks and late snack. Restaurant management and hotel management placed non WestJet restriction on the vouchers. Bottom line is we got Double billed for part of our bill at the Restaurant, because they took $90 (full amount) from WestJet vouchers and $45 from us. Using the vouchers covered the entire amount of the bill, yet the Restaurant demanded an additional $45 from us over and above. Marriott is hiding behind social media and email. Be adult about it, grow a conscious and call us directly and have an adult conversation. It's not even about the money. It's the Principle of this all. We will never give Marriott our business. We have been treated very disrespectfully. We also found glass on the carpeting in the room, like the glass table in the room had been recently replaced. Even though it is non smoking there was a can full of cigarette butts on the deck. How does housekeeping miss this? The only couch in the sitting area was set off to the side, making watching TV awkward.

Sadly, we are only able to stay for one night! With the newly renovated decor, my husband and I really loved our post flight sleep here. Full disclosure, we used a bunch of our Marriott reward points and were also offered an upgrade. Our room on the 15th floor was Sooooo comfortable. There is a sitting room with a tv, a shower with toilet and sink in the middle and a window looking north east over the city. The bedroom also has a tv and both tvs can be operated from a guest’s mobile device. There are lots of outlets for plugs and USBs, and the marble tops on most surfaces made us less worried about leaving watermark. A really neat feature was the low lighting that came on automatically when we each had to get up during the night. Staying in a new place and making sure that one can see where one is going is an important safety feature for us ‘old folks’.
I absolutely LOVED the shower with a rain forest head as well as a hand held. The fact that the water poured out onto the floor under the glass doors was a bit worrisome though and necessitated a couple of towels to mop up. On a cold night, we were so glad for the lined curtains which kept out the cold. There was a cold breeze coming through the window seal.
We had a healthy breakfast and great coffee downstairs that started our engines for a busy day. Once again, Marriott provided us with a welcome respite after a long travel day.

We stayed at the Marriott Vancouver Airport hotel in Richmond for 3 nights in July 2024 and it was excellent. The staff at the front desk were amazing and helpful. The breakfast burritos at the 75 Restaurant was excellent and came with a bowl of fruits. Cleaning staff were excellent. Parking was easy and plentiful. Ubers were fast and plentiful. The pool, hot tub and gym were too notch. It’s an amazing experience but the prices of hotels in Vancouver are not cheap, in general.

My husband and I had to extend our stay in the Vancouver area unexpectedly. After reading reviews we decided to stay at The Vancouver Airport Marriott Hotel. We had already spent time in Vancouver and felt this would be a nice change.

The location was fabulous for us. The hotel is surrounded by shopping and restaurants all within walking distance.

The staff at the hotel is great. We ended up staying here a total of 9 nights. The housekeeping person in our room took care of us and checked everyday to see what we needed. The restaurant is fabulous and we ate many meals here. Each person working in the restaurant was as responsive as the next. The front desk staff always smiled and help in every situation presented to them.

I have traveled with my husband around the world and this is one of the best hotel experiences we have had.

We have two more nights here but I wanted to ensure I posted this review while I had time before our everyday life takes over.

Was accommodated at the Marriott for one night as a distressed traveller after an Air Canada transcontinental cancellation. The hotel acknowledged my Bonvoy Titanium status and provided a very nice one bedroom suite with a small outdoor balcony area which was nice to get some fresh air. While I was only at the hotel for six hours, I was pleased with the room's amenities which were consistent with Marriott's brand standards (from the lights to the closet to the toiletries from thisworks). I don't understand why some other reviewers report having subpar rooms, since my experience has been that this property is quite consistent. Between my previous stay in Dec 2021 where I was accommodated in a Junior Suite and this stay, I had no issues with the amenities or service, and the hard product has held up very well.

We needed a hotel near the YVR airport due to an early flight out the next morning. We originally chose it because we are Marriott Bonvoy members & it had a shuttle to & from the airport. But the day before we arrived, we were informed the shuttle would not be available. You will definitely need to Uber to or from the airport as it’s not walkable. The Skytrain is an option, but you’ll have a 10 minute walk to the train station from the hotel. Despite all of that, when we arrived, the front desk was very kind & accommodating. They were able to give us an upgrade for our Marriott Bonvoy gold status to a King one bedroom suite on the 11th floor. The room was spacious, beautiful, and immaculate. You walked into a large living area with a pull out sofa, working desk area & large screen TV. There was a privacy sliding door to a large washroom area with a spacious shower. There was another privacy sliding door that led into the King bedroom which included another large screen TV. Very happy with this stay in spite of the shuttle hiccup.

Hello, I just saw this post. I am not certain how long it is open. I would email the front desk to ask them. But there is a very active restaurant and bar with sitting areas in the lobby.
